A lot of things!

1. Relics System Rework

We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from players about Relics in terms of what our players think works, doesn’t work, and what can be improved. After a lot of consideration, we’ve decided to revamp how Relics work entirely to bring players a new experience, taking runs from a luck based gamble to something that players can experiment with to find powerful combinations that take the battlefield by storm as they travel down the different paths available to them.

  • Players now receive a Relic drop immediately when starting a run.
  • Collecting your Relic drop will prompt players with a choice between two different Relics that they can claim.
==> Players will be able to spend Bones to reroll their Relics on this menu.
==> Relics in the inventory can no longer be rerolled.
  • Relics offered in the Relic drop can be Common, Rare, or Epic.
==> Players can now spend Bones to upgrade their Relics rarity tier during the selection screen or in their Relic inventory.
  • Players can also still choose to dismantle Relics instead.
  • Players will still need to collect Relic Tokens before new Relics will begin to drop during runs.
  • All Relics have been reworked to have new effects.

Paths and Types

Relics are now grouped into different Paths, with a focus on different kinds of effects.

  • Path of Honor: increase your Inner Fire to deal more damage and take less.
  • Path of Malice: destroy things in your path by enabling your actions to deal Critical Hits.
  • Path of Unity: Generate Co-op power orbs with your actions and make Co-op powers stronger.
  • Path of Vainglory: Your actions will fire missiles at enemies to help you in battle.
  • Path of Revenge: Your actions will trigger blasts that damage foes.
  • Path of Mercy: Your actions will generate healing orbs to let you fight longer.

Relics will be one of three potential types:

  • Action Relics that trigger based on the player doing specific actions.
  • Boost Relics that augment the effects of your Path. You will need a Relic from that path to begin spawning Boost Relics.
  • Duo Relics which combine the effects on two Paths. You will need Relics from both paths to find them.

2. Scepter of Charity

Ready to aid your fellow Rebels by Blinding the battlefield? The Scepter of Charity is a mid to long range Specialist weapon, capable of inflicting enemies with a brand new status effect; Blind. Blinded enemies will run away and take more damage from attacks, while also dealing damage over time for 4 seconds. Chain your attacks and abilities together to devastate enemies and weaken them for your allies.

  • The Scepter of Charity can be unlocked at its Weapon Shrine in Dark Woods.
  • The Scepter of Charity will cost 50 Eternal Shards to unlock.
  • New Weapon Updates and Cosmetics have been added for the Scepter of Charity.
  • New Tutorials and Compendium entries have been added.

3. Combat

Due to updates to the Relics, status effects such as Weak, Exposed, and Marked have been removed from the game.

4. Co-op Powers

  • Co-op powers will now be available by default on both starting weapons and unlocked weapons.
  • Players who complete a Weapon’s first Feat level will receive a buff to their Co-Op Power generation and the ability to generate Co-op Power passively.
  • Co-op powers will no longer regenerate passively by default and players will need to perform active actions to generate Co-Op Power.

5. Relic Wishing

  • Players can now Wish for Relics from a specific Path before starting their run.
==> Players will only be able to Wish for Action type Relics.
  • Wishing will cost 10 Eternal Shards.
  • Only one Relic can be Wished for at a time, but the same Relic can be Wished for up to 3 times.

6. Co-Strikes

  • Co-strike gauge will now provide a damage bonus instead of increasing the chance to Critical Hit.
  • The damage bonus will scale, increasing more slowly at higher thresholds, and can be stacked with high Empathy stats.

==> Star dust can still be collected as a Co-op score metric for Feat progression.

10. Feats

Many Feats have had their requirements adjusted to a lower value (for example: "Rebel Legend I "Defeat Unique Elites" has been decreased to 6 instead of 20).
