Artificial intelligence as we know it has only been around for about 20–25 months since the launch of the OpenAI API. Once mass adoption began, developers didnt stop and today is practically a new standard. If you are not coding with ai you are already behind and the gap between engineers and vibecoders will only grow. But what about artificial intelligence? why should Deno natively support for things like Llamafile ? Because we’re entering a new era shaped by artificial intelligence as an operating system.
- Artificial Intelligence as new operation system. Sam Altman said AI is already being used as an “operating system” inside leading labs - its clear this is the direction ai is taking. AI is quickly becoming the compiler of the future.
- Strengthening Deno as an industry standard. I love Deno vision, its KV, Cron, Playground, etc utilities already make development easier, and entire companies are built as wrappers around it. But we're at an inflection point here. If Deno doesnt integrate AI natively, big players like Google or Anthropic will release their own
- A transitional moment for the ecosystem. The industry has already shown the shift - SpaceX used Node.js for its rocket launches. Deno is the next logical step. Adding Llamafile support now would future-proof Deno and create long-lasting positive change.
