Without the code it's difficult to say as Bence pointed out however if I had to guess I'd say that you're centering vertically within the .container but your .container is probably NOT full height and so it's only as tall as the image you've put inside it... so, you're going to need to do something to make the container bigger. There are a number of ways to do this - why don't you give it a try.
