For some reason firefox's task manager says that it's running at 99-100% capacity, and that Synergism uses around 87% or more of the CPU, with the browser becomes extremely slow, while my task manager says my CPU sits at like 60% max, most often it's around 38-51%.
This basically always happens when I'm watching youtube while playing the game.
I am going to get my laptop checked out later, just in case it's some issue with the laptop, so will update when I get more info whether it's an issue on my end, or if there's something that needs optimization with the game.

Dont use non default annotation
and don't play games on a potato
This game overall poorly optimized, and its incremental game, type of game you play on potatoes
youtube is cpu heavy (video transcoding and whatnot), not really much we can do
(There are many spots where code could be optimized, so that is just not true)
i regularly have Synergism running while watching YouTube and playing a graphically intensive game, on an 8 year old CPU. if i can do that then just Synergism+YouTube (without the other game) should be no problem if you're not running a potato.
i would like to add though, in my experience Firefox is a slower browser
something can be fast and not optimized. Now if you mean computational wise - which is the only part of the game that would actually require the cpu - then the issue lays with either Decimal.js or the browser. Please don't say things you can't prove
Have you ever used non default annotation and looked at perfomance. If to look at format function I can see many spots which can be done better (as in more optimal); Amount of Decimal calls can be reduced (I'm 90% sure there is a lot of unnessary per second calculations that can be done once in a reset); Blaming browser for bad perfomance is something, game is just never been tryed to optimized and now no one cares and knows how
And by the way switching annotations is broken
this has been broken since the translation update
- read the first sentence of my post.
- modifying strings is not a cpu intensive task. Look into how js engines store strings. Claiming that formatting strings is causing high cpu usage (btw, only when watching youtube videos) rather than watching videos (which is cpu intensive) is completely wrong & absurd.
- wrong. The game was optimized to reduce layout calls by AlienC4. It's why a majority of the time spent by the browser is idle time. I know this because I have actually benchmarked the game.
- now read the last sentence of my post
There are many ways to optimize game. That format function uses most amount of active time is not good
Okay? That has nothing to do with high cpu usage
Alright, have gotten my laptop back. The stuff done to it so far are the fans being fixed with, and thermal paste being reapplied to the CPU.
Just wanna inform that my laptop was a decent mid-high tier that I bought in 2018, so it's by no means a potato laptop.
The CPU in the laptop is an i7-8750H, which is a hexacore CPU.
Considering the fact that the issue only happens after the game has been up and running for a while, and I've reached the later portion of a singularity, where I'm grinding the platonic upgrades between Beta and Ancients Rune, makes this point slightly towards it being some form of task leak or smt along those lines, likely from the automatic running of challenges, as stopping them and letting the laptop be for a while made me able to watch youtube without any issues until I started up the automation again to make progress in the game.
Maybe some rework on how challenges are automated, so as to minimize CPU workload could be made?
Will post again after some more progress on my end concerning the laptop. (If maybe the issue is thermal, or if it's the 16GB of the laptop maybe causing problems, or if it's just time to buy a new laptop with more RAM and a more powerful CPU)
P.S.
I have always been using Pure Scientific Notation.
Auto challenges does eat a lot, but no default annotation is eating way way more
my CPU is a 4 core from 2015 and i have only 16GB of RAM, i do not experience the issue
He doesn't says his game lagging, he says about high cpu usage (actually I don't know anymore)
if it was a problem i wouldn't be able to do this
My issue is that everything about the browser, aside from most of the stuff concerning the actual game, turns into powerpoint slide mode, with like an fps of 1/min when it gets real bad. For the game, it's the ability to scroll side to side when in half-screen mode (I use 2 firefox windows on my singular laptop screen to get the effect of 2 screens, so I can game and work at the same time lul)
Only 16GB 💀 💀 💀
For me 8GB it's a lot
