so i tried to play sunnyside last night and i got this same issue
uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to validate the integrity of the files, restarted my pc, etc...
but nothing seems to work and steam won't tell me why it's giving me this error (or if it does, i can't find it)
i assume it has something to do with patch 3 since i was able to play just fine after patch 2 but i'm not sure
i won't have much time to play in the coming months due to being busy irl so i'm hoping it will go away on its own after more patches but just in case it doesn't, i wanted to check if this happened to anyone else or if there's something i'm missing but i didn't find anything in this channel yet

This happens and it's usually a Steam issue. May have to un-and-reinstall.

in my experience, this is the result of not having enough space.

Ah, then it's a Steam issue, sadly.

If you type "Disk write" in the search box for Discord, you'll see other instances where people had this issue. I think we were able to help find solutions for some of them.

sometimes quarantined stuff will stay that way even with it

the person fem tried linking earlier fixed it by removing sunnyside from the quarantine so should work if it didnt read-only the directory too

was able to finish the update and start the game 👍

i wonder why it got caught in avast suddenly though

avast and windows defender can just be weird and do that sometimes

i once had windows defender suddenly delete a mod for a game on me because one day it just decided it was unsafe lol

i think i have windows defender disabled because it was fighting with avast too

but i've never really had issues with avast quarantining stuff it shouldn't until last month
