Honestly the devs just didn't do as well in this game as the first.
It feels like EVERY 3 seconds something is trying to fight me no matter the time of day or location on the map. This game feels AWFUL compared to the first due to that. I have the equipment, and stats to kill anything in the game, but I don't want to feel forced into spending 90% of my time fighting, when I want to explore more, or build. I've had several instances where wasps I didn't aggro or get near follow me to every end of the map, larva or other bugs spawn in groups that weren't previously there, after I've turned around, and more genuinely ridiculous scenarios.
Want to build a base? well something is going to be attacking
Want to explore? every little thing will be attacking.
Moving your base? good luck, every 3 seconds something is attacking.
Minding your own business at your base? incoming orc wave.
still minding your own business at your base? Let's spawn a hostile creature right around the corner.
It's become so tiring that every single time i turn around something is hissing, or drawing aggro.
The spawn rates, and locations suck in this and I genuinely feel like I didn't have that complaint at ANY point during the first game. Overall I think this game lost the magic of the first and having overly tuned bugs, spawn locations, and spawn rates and enemy bugs following/ tracking for ungodly amounts of time.
The issue isn't the combat, or being unable to kill anything, it's being unable to go more than a minute without combat and having something follow me until I do fight it just to make it fuck off.
