#How to resize shape with multiple layers & stroke?

hello! i made a big shape in figma with multiple laters (apple, apple step, apple leaf, and triangle). i want to resize this shape to be smaller and more of an icon size, however i keep running into the following problems:

when i try to resize the layers together, i lose the shape and the stroke does not resize proportionally. attached is an example of the image at it's original size vs when it's resized.

here's what i have tried to resolve the issue:

  • i have tried flattening the layers, this doesnt work and messes up the shape
  • i have tried auto-layout, this just moves the layers around
  • i have tried making the layers one component, and while that lets me adjust them in sync, it does not allow me to rescale them proportionally, and the strong still remains bloated
  • i have tried grouping the layers together and resizing, and that still does not work

i am fairly new to figma, so even while looking up answers, i havent found anything. is there anyway i can be helped/assisted? thank you.

Use the Scale tool and hold shift while dragging from the corner. You can activate it by pressing K or accessing it here:

Not super obvious so don't kick yourself for missing it!
