TDM/TDC SET REVIEW

• Adaptive Training Post: Could be good in some kind of spellslinger thing? Might be best in the control list but even then it seems like a bit of a waste. Goes well in: Control, but not super well.
• Ainok Strike Leader: Heroic intervention for your tokens on a body that makes tokens? Beautiful. Goes well in: Tokens
• Aligned Heart: honestly probably better than Monastery Swiftspear. Card is cracked in half. If you wan tokens, this is a good way to do it. Goes well in: Tokens, Control, General
• Arbor Adherent: Basically another Heronblade Elite/Selvala type card. Plus for this one not needing to have the counters put on it, but still. At 4 mana that’s a hard sell. If you can make it work, great - otherwise not so great.
• Become the Avalanche: Beautiful in a deck wanting to go half tall, half wide. Great finisher in general, and attached to mass card draw can be really effective, especially since we generally get our hands full/overflowing. Goes well in: General, Go Tall, Go Medium, Control
• Broodcaller Scourge: Honestly? Solid way to cheat on mana costs. You’re not casting it which is a bummer but still not bad. Not sure where it goes though.
• Canopy Gargantuan: Beautiful big boy. Does a similar job as Quilled Greatwurm, though having to wait until upkeep is a big minus. Greatwurm does it right away. Goes well in: +1/+1 counters, Control, Go Wide
• Coordinated Maneuver: Beautiful removal spell for a go wide strategy that also slaps the occasional enchantment down. This is, imo, the second best option for this effect. Goes well in: Go Wide
• Dalkovian Encampment: always enters tapped, only temporarily makes tokens, not recommended tbh.
• Deceptive Frostkite: I don’t think it will replace Mockingbird in the generic package but it’s a really solid clone for this kind of deck since we can selectively make things bigger.

• Diviner of Mist: fills your yard to hit removal, and recurs removal for free. Beautiful control piece. Goes well in: Mill, Control
• Dragonfire Blade: Costs 2 to cast and equip to bumble. +2/+2 doesn’t matter as much as what is effectively a copy of Commander’s Plate that Bumble prefers. Goes well in: Voltron/Go Tall
• Duty Beyond Death: love the card, but I think it’s deceptive in where it should go. This is a go wide card, as sacrificing one of your few big guys is usually a bad idea. Goes well in: tokens/go wide
• Elspeth, Storm Slayer: I don’t need to tell you why this is good. Goes Well In: Tokens/Go Wide, +1/+1 counters
• Encoraching Dragonstorm: tbh dragons could be a way to build bumble after this set came out. Lots of good bant-inclusive dragons that are great general value and would love to be saddled with tons of counters. Run this if you do that. As a side note, it’s also another better copy of Explosive vegetation since it can be recast after being bounced. Goes well in: dragons? Bounce, general
• Floral Evoker: I could see this maybe being used in a landfall bumble? Scythecat cub with a way to buy back your lands by pitching your irrelevant creatures. Notably, you can buy those pitched creatures back with your evo wit or Trailtracker scout, so. Goes well in: Landfall
• Glacierwood Siege: The temur side is beautiful for mill strategies, self mill or targeted. Your removal doubling as extra mill is great. Attach that to a crucible of worlds? Now we’re cooking with gas. Goes well in: landfall, mill
• Hammerhead Tyrant: Control, eat your heart out. Generally higher curve means you’ll be slamming bigger stuff and more regularly bouncing relevant pieces. You were already playing hullbreaker horror, right? Also use its younger brother. Goes well in: control, ramp
• Herd Heirloom: JESUS CHRIST this card is good. Use it. Goes well in: any

• Heritage Reclamation: power crept Naturalize. Solid removal.
• Ironwill Forger: Love the card, I think it’s honestly generally good but in a token deck it can really pop off. Goes well in: Tokens/Go wide, Control
• Marang River Regent: Another notch in the dragon idea, but it also doubles as a good control piece. Bounce two relevant things attached to a 6/7 flying body OR a repeatable draw spell? Great work, wotc. Goes well in: Control, Dragons?
• Naga Fleshcrafter: Another clone, could go crazy in decks that run huge individually impactful creatures like hullbreaker horror.
• Nature’s Rhythm: Chord of Calling? Is that you?? Why are you casting twice?? Goes well in: Any (high power)
• Protector of the Wastes: More double/quadruple removal on big ass dragons? Hell yeah. Goes well in: dragons?, Control
• Rally the monastery: love the card, really solid removal piece and doubles as good token production.
• Reunion of the house: A lot of the creatures in my deck are small and synergize to get huge later, so this could be pretty good. Goes well in: go wide/lots of small creatures
• Roamer’s Routine: really, really good value, but the initial 3 man’s rampant growth gives me major pause. We want to hit 2 mv ramp to get bumble out.
• Smile at Death: Good at reanimating small value creatures. Solid here but 5 mana is not very great.
• Taigam, Master Opportunist: really only great if you’re abusing time counters. Another bumble idea?
• Ugin, Eye of the Storms: cards cracked, but unless you’ve got a lot of rock ramp you aren’t triggering it much. Really good ramp and draw but that’s about all you’ll get from it, and that’s a hard sell at 7 mana.

• Voracious Bibliophile: Underrated card of the set right here, card is insane. Amazing piece in control and is basically a baby con sphinx in that deck. Goes well in: control
• Warden of the Grove: holy hell this card. Goes well in go wide nontokens, tokens, control, +1/+1 counters, and maybe even go tall.
• Will of the Mardu: great removal in go wide. Great way to put up blockers in pillow fort or aikido.
• Will of the sultai: great for landfall, mill, and generally if a game goes long. Also gross in voltron.
• Will of the Temur: is fine? Not a fan, personally. There are better uses of 6 mana at sorcery speed.
• Winternight Stories: I’m very high on this card. Double spells super easy, draws you an absurd number of cards in doing so. Great piece for basically any form of bumble that can reliably discard creatures.

I’m a big fan of fetchlands, and always recommend picking some up when they get reprinted

Idk if i actually count this as a reprint per se, but it’s not a bad time to get them

They’re very flexible, extremely playable in multiple formats and are far and away the best fixing a deck could have, especially when paired with a suite of land typed two color lands

Tango lands, shock lands, surveil lands, ABUR duals, and even the typed cycle lands are all extremely valuable

Guys I played Bumbleflower yesterday:D

My friend was playing Taliyon clones and kind of held the board hostage after a Kindred dominance. I saved my board with Galadriels Dismissal but the drain was getting really bad. The Ukkima player was holding a loaded gun at all of us basically, but I had Dawn's truce ready for if he slapped me with it (he did try and I survived)
In the end I couldn't really get my double spell engine online and gave too many free cards to the last player at the table, who was on Donal. Got my Bumbleflower stolen by Sower of temptation and killed by my own commander LOL

Aikido is a tough ask into a table of all Blue players

I was feeding the Donal in hopes I stumbled into Reins of Power but just couldn't draw enough cards anyway

As for creatures metastatic angel and essence warden seem like obvious cuts to me. Proliferate seems nice in idea but I think you are better off just focusing more putting more counters than any proliferate effects. I’m also kinda of iffy on brightglass gearhulk. You have a few things you can grab like your hardened scales or some of your mana dorks but I think that slot could be better used adding more counter synergy. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
