#(3-13-23) When you realize you have too many decks, how do you decide which to take apart?

This is why I purposely do not build all the decks that I get ideas for. This…and budget lol
Yeah I just spend a lot of time mulling over ideas that I make sure I enjoy my next deck
I also only have 6 decks so like
I’m able to play them all on a regular basis (at the moment)
let me preface this with: I don't remember ever having too many decks (when I finish my WIP I'll have the most I've ever had, which is 7) BUT
generally, for me to take apart a deck it's gotta be absolute ass to the point I don't even want to play it and to the point where it would take way more to bring it up to speed than I actually care about it
usually when I take decks apart it's just garbage I built on a whim years ago because I thought it might be fun, then it was for a little bit and got so horribly outclassed by the years of progress that I pillage it for parts
most recent example is my old Rosheen Meanderer deck which I took literally all the expensive cards out of to put into my new Kodama of the West Tree build
I take apart the decks that get stale. Either they win too much, or don't do the original plan.

I think most of my decks died when I moved and decided to just keep one casual deck, and then my cedh decks died when I stopped playing cedh often and I needed $$
I try to only build decks I know I’ll use for that exact reason
I put together a spreadsheet of colors, pairs, shards, and canabalized to optimize my favorite of each thing(4 simic to 1). the only exception is grixis because Inalla Wizards and Rogues play exceptionally different, and 5 color because I wanted the 5 cmc commander to be the theme, not 5 colour good stuff. So, now I have one of everything except Bant and Naya.
I struggle to see all my ideas through to make too many decks in the first place LMAO
I also just do better focusing on one specific deck at a time though, so it goes both ways
I kinda just take apart my decks when I've got new ideas to use their cards for
Ones I rarely reach for
I sort of short list decks for being taken apart if I have too many games where I didn't have fun or my opponents clearly were wishing they could be anywhere else.
But, when I feel I have too many decks I start looking into whether some could be combined into one that would be better than the two separately
