What version of the Awtter are you using?
There was a problem with the viseme with v3.0.74i: #📋-changelogs message
3.0.79
correction 3.0.79a
Yeah the patch notes for the 3.0.74i ver list Aa viseme fixed.
well, idk why but it isn't working for me
Should I rebuild an awtter from scratch again?
Have a look in the LibSync section of the VRC Avatar Descriptor on your avatar and make sure all visemes are assigned:
Another thing to check is to see if the vrc.v_aa viseme works is to check it in Blender.
Perhaps there is a bug in VRChat that the "aa" viseme is not called correctly.
viseme works in blender
Testing it with GestureManager and setting viseme to 10, which according to documentation is "aa", does nothing.
Perhaps you found a bug on the Awtter! 🐛
It works on other avatars. We will have a look what is causing this. Likely culprit is an animation locking it down.
ATM the moment it’s seems to be something with the fish contact, and the tongue puppet animations. That’s causing the Aa to be locked. And uncontrollable from the viseme.
Still working into fixes. That don’t just get rid of those features.
Our finding so far, the "aa" and "ou" visemse blendshapes are used by 5 animation files and thus locking those blendshapes down.
We are considering mutliple solutions:
A) Not really a solution but a blunt fix
Removal of tongue puppet and fish contact or modification of the animation files removing the blendshape control.
B) Duplicating the blendshapes in Blender
Making a duplicate of the "aa" and "oh" blendshapes soley for the purpose of the tongue and fish contact animation and adjusting them accordingly.
C) MMD blendshapes
Using alternative blendshapes like the MMD ones for the animations in the tongue puppet and fish contact instead of "aa" and "ou". This fix would affect the tongue puppet when dancing in MMD worlds (does anyone do that?).
Option C seems to be the easiest. As Shade is currently at a con he cannot update/fix the Awtter. We (the helpers) might be able to provide a small animation fix package to address this.
