Extreme lag on Desktop opposed to Browser | TETR.IO | Page 1

I got myself a new laptop recently and installed TETR.IO Desktop on it. However, it lags to the point of being unplayable.
Thing is, opening the game in Browser doesn't lag the game at all.

Additionally, opening the F8 menu on both clients shows a framerate of 200+, even on the Desktop client which definitely does not reach that amount of FPS.

I have tried reinstalling twice already and have also updated my drivers.
