• Uninstalling the Google app's updates then updating from Play Store doesn't work.

• Downloading the Google Assistant 's resources will show an error. Reboot is required but when doing the test above, it will show the same error.

There's no direct way to access the boot.img of the currently running ROM. It requires terminal commands, and I can't remember what they are. You can check yourself though; Google "how to pull boot.img from ROM" or something like that

Personally, I just pull the boot.img file from the payload.bin in the ROM zip.
