Have had that a few times after the EvoX update that needed HyperOS firmware. But I guess now it's gone. My only Problem is Playstore Integrity is only BASIC

Same issue with me. Phone completely shut off while flashing hyper OS firmware in TWRP.

Completely black and can never restart. Had to warranty it at service center.
They try to flash EDL and etc but cannot revive. Needed to change whole motherboard.

I received back my phone with bootloader locked. I guess it's a whole new motherboard.

It was already running on that latest ROM. Just that i didn't flash hyperOS firmware earlier.

So that is why I wanted to flash the hyperOS firmwre. I think as some people has mentioned, there is some bug with our unofficial TWRP. Better to flash the fastboot version through fastboot

Please, as a tip for anyone wanting to change/flash firmwares: Just flash MIUI/HyperOS Xiaomi.eu via fastboot, it has firmware included and will flash it with absolutely no risk. Once flashed, feel free to flash evo.

I have had the same problem when I flashed the first EvoX version that needed HyperOS-FW some weeks ago (had EvoX with old FW before). Somehow I could manage to flash HyperOS FW via TWRP (on the 1st try, it crashed, but 2nd try worked). After that and cleaning all caches, everything works fine now. (Oh and I had to update PIF to have Playstore Integrity again).

Managed it! Fiddled around with trying to do wireless adb etc. for a while to no avail for a while...

Went into the old TWRP and when it inevitibly crashed I went straight into fastboot from there and the USB was suddenly recognized, then installed new TWRP and flashed HyperOS!

I have a POCO F5 and used Evolution X since November 2023, did every OTA now and then and didn't experience major issues since today.
I updated to the latest build from March 4th this morning, and noticed only tonight when I went back from work that my phone USB is not working anymore.
I can't plug it to my PC nor charge the phone which is the most embarassing atm. I'm stuck with 16% battery left and don't know what to do.
Does anyone have an idea ? I'm kinda considering the phone lost

It looks like it is charging, but slowly (shows XXX mah and increases slowly, 1 mah per minute...)
I experienced a forced shutdown saying 0% battery left. Then the phone rebooted on its own... Went to settings, didn't find the battery menu anymore.
Searched it on the search bar, and opened it to read a message saying (sorry I translate from french) : "Problem reading battery measurement tool"

Somebody told me "install firmware". But I never did such a thing since the first installation of Evo X on my phone.
How should I do it ?

With twrp you can Flash the hyperos Firmware.

@crude spindle same thing happened to me, if your TWRP isn't up to date (see the version at the bottom when you start recovery) you'll have to install that first via Fastboot then you can install HyperOS via TWRP

Also if you are worried about the current charge level go into fastboot and leave it plugged in for a while to charge it will work

I've checked multiple ROMs (HyperOS, Paranoid, Lineage, Crdroid) and they all behave the same (it pairs, sees it's an audio device, but cannot connect), so I guess it's due to Xiaomi's firmware or something. There were news reports that LC3 would be supported in HyperOS, it might have gotten delayed. Android 15 will have even more LE audio features too, so I'll wait for that

It was covered under warranty. I just reported it as couldn't turn on and can't charge.

They tried to swap the battery but couldn't work. Tried to flash it from a special mode but couldn't work.

In the end they changed the motherboard only. Everything reset back to stock when i received it back. Bootloader is locked and I need to wait 3 days for Mi Unlock also.

I guess changing motherboard is like getting a new phone (just the brain)

I have no idea why but Ive flashed skkk-TWRP as a recovery, I have saved my phone from a bad flashing I did for an update of EvoX with fastboot images on windows. My phone is unlocked still, Ive enabled adb when i booted into that awful HyperOS, Ive granted permissions there, but when Im inside of skkk-twrp I get "no permissions(google-link)" when i try adb sideload. Thank You everyone for your help. When I got the phone it was on miui and the I have updated that manually. I believe in that process there was some problem. So what I did is I re-flashed the hyperos in my poco f5 and then I flashed the evolution x rom. Now everything is working properly and I am enjoying the beautiful android experience. @rich vine Thank you so much for developing this awesome project.

After you've flashed a recovery (TWRP or OFox), you're phone should show up as an MTP device when you plug into a computer.
Else, copy your SD card using adb commands
$ adb pull /sdcard/[nameOfFolder] X:[destinationFolder]

Hello all, I'm sorry to ask but I could use some help/advice. I bought a Redmi note 12 turbo 1tb model off AliExpress for a good deal, it came with evolution-x pre installed (as a global Rom.) it worked fairly well until one update after the hyper Os came along. I updated it without reading the details (that hyper os needed to be installed first) and boom my device was prdy much bricked. I took it to a shop and asked them to fix it and root it which they did with much trouble. It now has China miui 14.0.27 rooted with Magisk and TWRP recovery. The China Rom was the only Rom the technician could get to run without signal drop.. I hate it! After finally getting most of the China apps out of site now it randomly reboots. I've tried to use log trace to figure out why but no luck.. I just want to run a global or eu Rom (evolution-x) would be great again but I'm worried I'll screw up again and brick this temperamental pos.. the step by step guide on installation of evolution-x just doesn't seem straightforward. Any help would be appreciated.

Before flashing Evo X, I flashed a Xiaomi.eu ROM HyperOS ROM just in case.

It's pretty straightforward:

Boot to bootloader/fastboot
Make sure the computer detects using fastboot devices
Click on the flashall.bat file (if on Windows)

That's it.

After that, I installed Evo X by flashing using Ofox recovery.

Don't lock the bootloader just use clear all, also after extracting the mi flash tool create a empty folder named log in the extracted folder.

You can use MI Flash tool to flash hyperos and then try it again. I believe something similar happened to me while I was flashing the rom. So what I did I reflashed global HyperOS and then flashed the Evolution X and that worked for me.

just enter fastboot mode using power button and volume down

It sucks but i think the best way would to limit contact with the broader public as much as possible, maybe filter contact by communicating mainly with moderators and yeah cut off telegram. Recently, I've faced this issue with HyperOS. Also, RAM got used automatically without opening any app.

I'm facing a few bugs:

1. The face unlock stops working after sometime and the lockscreen says "Face unlock unavailable".
2. The brightness gets really bright and either had to fight against the brightness slider or turn it off... It didn't adapt to my behaviour and restarting the device makes the brightness 100% every time.
3. Dolby Equalizer preset changes to default upon reboot and volume leveler turns on every time.
4. Disable HW Overlays is turned automatically off upon every reboot...
