There is plenty of room for storage to be cleared for all resources. Haulers are idling. Cancel button does not work. Assembler stuck for ingame week in change recipe mode now. Only destroying and rebuilding the Assembler fixes the issue.

so far its only happened once for me, when the assembler was off due to a power shortage.. i've been paying attention and so far have no had it repeat. could be observsation bias of course.

happened twice after I reported it. I am switching recipes often to fulfill the contracts though as I only have 1 assembler for now. I will try to see if this is due to lack of power while switching recipes. thanks for the tip @thorn mica 🙏

i'm seeing the same problem with both assemblers and hi-tech factories. when i try to change recipe, it gets stuck pretty often and i need to demolish the building.
