Since drones seem to get lost, get stuck, or simply disappear, perhaps one modification might be a drone servicing module early in the tech tree. This would be a place where you could "recall" all drones for modifications, headcounting, etc. If the drone doesn't respond it would allow the truck to go get them or incorporate a drone self destruct to recover their components. An upgrade (late game) to this module would allow actual contruction of drones.

ideally they fix the bug itself instead of implementing a ‘stuck’ button. I could see the use of ‘recall’ for resetting what the drones are currently working on to have them focus on something else

Been thinking about this suggestion a bit, and I agree with @frozen zephyr - implementing a new mechanic because there's something wrong with another mechanic seems like bad game design. Better to fix the behavior.

Then about constructing robots. Not sure about that, and to be frank I find it quite curious that we can just buy them for cheap on the market. Just spam-buying tons of them negates so much of the game's other mechanics in stragic placement, conveyer building etc.

I think having more robots than X number of drones (say 20 or less) could come at a exponential cost in CPU or repairing them as many moving parts could wear them out - thus promoting other aspects of the game.
