Some nests just suck. If the essence is level 22+ and it's a 2 or 3 troop nest in which the majority troop type is on the back lines, then it might just not be possible without some killer stats

The only thing the dn heroes tell you about the nest are that there's at least 1 troop of that type in the nest. If you're rallying anti, don't overthink it too much. Just plan to hit twice.

In general, essence level doesn't matter. Only color and duration. Level 15 - level 25 all give the same gifts. 12h gifts give slightly better rewards than 8h ones though

Probably not. Could try going like 20% cav, but you'd need your cav on the back line when the wall falls for them to be useful. Based on those numbers, I'd guess you spent like 60%-70% of the battle just shooting the infantry
