Castle 18 is literally the worst to park at. Sit on C12 as long as you can for watcher optimisation. Then go up was far as 17 and Park there as long as you can. After that, level up the castle to 21 as fast as you can. At least if getting watcher is your goal. Castle 18-19 are the worst time/might: effort ratio

@little wyvern actually, in practice, if one focuses on doing every watcher research hell and only does research during those hells, it only takes a few weeks before you max out the possible research available without upping the academy.
And then a few weeks more as you build up past C12 to c17.
I just did this on a F2P alt I created just to try it out and see what happens... Took 3 months, was minimal effort tbh, and in that time got almost blue watcher, gold trickster, and had enough gems saved up from guild gifts to do half of the c25 gem buildings straight up. (Didn't shield the account and kept leader and troops permanently garrisoned).
Sure, experienced players can race a castle to 25 in a couple of days, no biggie. But for new players, this is fairly equivalent progress, just got a lot of watcher and pre- made equipment etc along the way.

@harsh zealot precisely. The strategy I laid out is really only helpful to f2p new accounts. If you're paying to win, who cares what you do, just throw more money at the game and get what you want anyway. And being a newbie with low might and no experience at c25 is pretty useless

@idle loom I did this little experiment with a fresh alt basically seeing what happens if I implement everything I wish I'd known when I first started. Turns out that little account ended up getting the castle leveled up in the end but much behind the players who started at the same time but raced to it, only it benefited a lot along the way. And it was honestly 3 months total.

@idle loom at c17, unless you're in a good guild and you're good at saving up, you have no hope. But my main advice is: save up EVERYTHING. Become a hoarder with speeds etc. plan out your research super carefully. Try to only complete research when there's a watcher hell on and then throw everything at finishing the hell as closely as possible (use a calculator and pick researches that will add up to the amount you need without going much over).

My Little test account - at 300k might got first watcher medal. Unlocked watcher at 600k might. Within 8 weeks was ready to move past C12 with a total of 25/50 watcher medals (I also timed my construction to coincide with watcher building hells, and used my main to help out get monster hunt watcher hell). 10 weeks old and C15 started doing guild fest, easily scored over 1500 point without even having skirmish 8 unlocked or enough troops to do a gathering quest - and was able to take Rank 70 Hell quests without fear: simply completing the hell got me at worst rank 10.

And now less than 4 months old this f2p account is ready to fly, has over 300k gems, a pretty decent set of equipment (better than the gear I had on my first account at that stage of the game), pretty nice RSS stash and still weeks worth of speed ups ready for next gf.
There is no one right way to play, but this is a solid strategy for a fresh f2p account.

Best advice: run some dn4 and build up to increasingly higher level was essence. Do actually scout things so you go in with the best counter. And just cancel a high ess dn5 if you haven't got a full rally or you're sending your troops into a meat grinder. You only want to send pure cav in at an inf nest

You can try cav wedge into that

tldr wedge gets through half of the frontline and then starts hitting the secondary line whereas phalanx forces you to clear frontline before hitting anything else

Since the nest only has 462k range, you pick cav

or if you're not comfortable going even with so much cav, you could consider going range, but you'll have to deal with more inf countering you

but if you brick the rally, you'll know formation and you can just counter frontline

Alright due to the bug that occured last night I was not able to cancel a fake rally with all my troops and able to shelter my troops. When they returned they got attacked and they all died. If I could have canceled the rally I would have sheltered my troops and would have had them today.

i did with lore, petite, tracker, raven, and rose but you should be fine with replacing lore with prima

i think it works for both normal and elite if not try to get rose first 6-12 elite for her medals

If you truly did not get them (you would receive a system message saying you did) you'll more than likely have to contact igg support. All the igg ids were verified and if you made a mistake or entered a false id you obviously wouldn't get any prizes

@toxic hazel become P2P XD, Jokes aside build lot of infirmaries so u don't lose troops in attacks. Put your talent points in research,construction and training speed till those are maxed out. Make research gears lvl 40 ones. What else yeah gets trickster scarlet bolt and sage to gold grade asap in that order

@toxic hazel yes always shelter your troops and leaders. Always is the keyword here. Do not build more than 1 farm 2 may be don't worry about upkeep let it remain 0. Focus on 1 type of resource production. Build only 1 barrack. Don't forget to press help. Use your guild coins to buy jewels

Look at kingdom might rankings to see where you would be a good fit and start mailing guilds (most good guilds don't like blind applications or people who just post "open door" on the dip board). You definitely want to be in a good guild

But save your speed ups, and when you're ready to upgrade your castle, you can complete it during a watcher construction hell, just make sure you have enough RSS and speed ups to finish the castle, your main RSS buildings, and the vault, workshop, infirmary, barracks, etc all in one go.
Look up the might of each building for that level and calculate precisely what you will need so you're prepared. Otherwise construction hell is too hard.

When you look at your stats page, under where you select your talents, scroll down until you see the green numbers under "leader deployed". Those are what is applied when sending leader, so it counts your gear; and the white numbers to the left of the green numbers are base stats, research and talents included. So,

1. Yes points in gathering talents apply when leader isn't sent, because those are the white numbers.
2. Yes research in offence defense etc apply without leader in rally/army, because research and talents increase the white numbers, not the green numbers.

I should add if your troops are joining someone else's rally, then none of your stats count, only the rally leader.

@vital marten you're obviously be to the game. Your kingdom is closed because it's a new kingdom (where freshly made accounts spawned all around the same time that you started). No one can enter that kingdom until it opens (if you zoom out to the world map it will tell you in how many days the protection phase ends). So it's actually impossible for anyone to migrate to your kingdom to attack anyone - you have to find someone who is already in your kingdom, so your best bet is actually messaging kingdom chat or individual guilds.
Or better yet: let go of your grudge and focus on building your army so you can fight your own battle :)

Since around before or after(?) the T5 update there's now 2 phase of Kingdom Protection.

• Protection Phase (90 days)
• Restriction Phase (90 days)

So basically all newly spawned Kingdoms (and other kingdoms that "were still" in Protection Phase before T5 update) will receive the Restriction Phase.

Main Difference:
Protection Phase = ❌KvK
Restriction Phase = ✅KvK

@vital marten you need to find a good guild in your kingdom and you need to shield your castle. If you can't keep up a permanent shield, you must shelter your troops and leader, you can garrison them under a guild mate's shield also. But as a new player, you simply will never grow if you don't shield up to start with. There will always be bigger players who will burn you for RSS and kills and to take your leader. This is a simple fact of the game. Until you're grown big enough to take a rally you have to be shielded

Also, getting to T4 within a year being mostly f2p is a stretch. T5 will cost you a lot and take time.

Monthly surprise is one of the best value especially for a newly starting account. And cheap enough to pick one upSurprisingly, the lower price packs are frequently better value than the more expensive ones.
If you're starting off and plan to be a mostly paying account, getting the full set of packs that start with Petit Devil (A New Adventure) and the one with Big Guy (can't remember what it's called), is one of the best increments you'll make. Starts out really cheap and gets progressively bigger and more expensive with each round, but they never expire and you get very good gold equipments with them that give you a huge boost, as well as a couple starter paid Heroes who are totally worth it and a bunch of other goodies.
Probably a $300-500 investment at the outset, but honestly, commit to that early on, and set aside money for a few $5 Slayer packs, and maybe one material madness. Then never spend again. You'll get more out of it and give yourself a better head start than spending small amounts in dribs and drabs over the course of time.
(This assumes you have the $ upfront and are budgeting to spend that kinda money in the game to begin with)
