The game is very grindy, especially now with random being the only way to acquire a character you truly want, but you don't have to play it that way. I've really dropped off playing, don't do challenges and am only doing the towers and reptile. I'm maxed on relic hunt so I don't even see it. I'm not expecting to really get anywhere on fusion of diamond characters anymore.

I do shau khan tower for souls, but I'm no longer big excited on souls knowing I'm 7% for getting something I haven't got at max. I do quest mode usually, but I used to have 300+ days played and it's reset a number of times. My streak "came back" when they fixed a bug a few weeks or months ago, but I broke it right before that, and it broke again twice since.

They also recommended random other players as ally's

I dont know when they removed it my guess is 2019 or maybe late 2018
