I collected a 10k stone package from my inventory in my newly created town, but I mistakenly thought I was in another town that already had warehouses built. Because of the storage limit, I only received 2,500 stone out of the 10,000. This issue isn’t limited to beginners—you could use a 1 million pack and still lose 90% of it.

I understand this was my own mistake for not checking the warehouse capacity first. However, I think it would benefit all players if a warning popped up when collecting a resource package that would exceed the town’s storage limit, so players are aware before confirming the action.

There already is information in the UI that surplus would be lost when redeeming an item in such a situation.
And the town in which it will be used is literally above the the "Use" button.
I suggest paying more attention to what you're doing and reading what is actually already there.
