I'm just gonna race to gain parts and do what l can to upgrade my cars. I have no clue as to how l can earn credits to fuse cars. I have cars ready to fuse right now and can't use those cars for anything until l do. I guess it's up to me to figure it all out. Can't say much more than that. Carry on.

@hidden adder Hi Katie, it would help us A LOT if we could have a sense of the actual gain in performance from augments... it is sometimes frustrating to be on a race and to have your car maxed out, yet seeing someone with lower PP score, doing the exact same racing line as you, and deploying the nitro at the exact time as you, yet managing to beat your time... one just assume they had better augments... but there's no actual way of knowing, at least not until you make it so the augments are also factored in on the PP score of the car.

Imagine someone offers you an upgrade for your car in real life, and when you ask “how much grip/power/downforce will i gain from this?” The answer is “well, I don’t have the stats, but you’ll gain “some” performance.... would you even consider it?
then imagine you are in a race where other racers are allowed to have an unrestricted amount of “mystery” augments... would you ever feel like you are on a “fair” race?
I hope I’m wrong, but my guess is Hutch is deliberately choosing to keep this on a gray area, and this opens it up for many interpretations...

@real talon trust me, they know. This was raised months ago. Specifically we want to know what the augments do. But, as per usual, no answers or at least uninformed opinions. Just another frustration to add to the list.
I’m going to get a reply back telling me this is unfair. That the point of this forum is to answer questions. There will be some technical stuff thrown in to muddy the water, then finally, it’s something we are looking into. Boring!

I could be wrong, but to me, the concept is simple:
1- Make augments part of the PP score.
2 - Allow me to race people with the same PP score.
I would rather spend some gold on trying to beat my friend @steep halo on a fair race... and i know he, and many others would do too.
that would be way more satisfying and enjoyable.
Let the kids race among themselves, let them wreak havoc, spam-buy tickets, go for overprice bling for their cars.... let the casuals be casual about the game...
... but please, for us, the ones actually drawn to competition and discipline, let us have a clear structure to work with.

PP is a calculated score derived by running each car through a number of tracks at different levels of upgrade. This is done programatically by a system we call, the Resolver.
As the game has an underlying physics system a lot of factors come into play; power, traction, surface, downforce, weight, even the physical size of the car, not to mention the racing line taken and when the boost is used.
For an individual track we can determine the time delta for a well repeatable AI 'driver'. The problem with bringing this all into a single metric, PP, is that some cars are faster on some tracks than others. So the PP of a car is really an overall average estimate of performance converted into a readable number.
The way Augments work depends on the augment but they typically provide a % increase to a given performance factor on the car.

Furthermore, let me ask you this: would you agree that the “fairness” aspect of a race would actually be improved by disclosing all the info that impacts the overall performance, instead of keeping “gray areas” like the current augment system?
With each race, you are literally (and deliberately) leaving us wondering if our opponents had better augments, or if they just bested us at driving... and this being a racing game, makes it a fundamental flaw; if you can’t even realize that, then I suggest you give us at least the benefit of the doubt, and “look into it”.
Also, the use of phrases like “typically provide”, and “a % increase of a given performance factor” sound particularly vague for an app that is 100% code, meaning all aspects of it are governed by a VERY SPECIFIC programming inputs... so, that being said, none of these issues are the cause of some weird and un explicable phenomena... it’s all decisions and programming.

It would be nice to see an event & ladder schedule say for the next few months. Would be nice to fuse cars/trucks with a plan. Right now it’s just day to day fly by the seat of your pants events and ladders. The off road vehicles should probably have a schedule of upcoming ladders and PvP events for May and June right? Last truck is avail on 25th, what is upcoming till then and the month after? I’m just taking a guess but right after the Mercedes off road is complete and you use all your fusion creds on the Z71 and the custom K5 there will be a Chevy car series!

@real talon Augments aren't a simple thing to convey - the over impact of each one depends on the car, how many are applied overall and what track they're used on.
Rebel Racing isn't a game where we say - you have more power so you move along a line towards the end of the track faster. The game sits on a physics simulation where each wheel has power applied to spin it and move the car forward. As a result lots of things matter from stiffness of the virtual springs that attach the wheels to the car to the slip on a given surface.
One of our designers will give the top line info around Augments - they tend to be x% increase in torque, boost Augments are based on a % increase in the boost duration
