#THE ACOLYTE
1 messages · Page 6 of 1
yeah
I just feel like if it was a Ren at the time he would've said I'm called Ren, rather than I have no name
but he could become, so that's fair
Having knowledge of the Sith code doesn't make any of that mutually exclusive either
the knights also call the force 'shadow'
so some knowledge would've had to be lost
Ren is neat tho
would like to see more of him
and them
Repeated gauntlet punches and pommel whacks will do that
the helmet is also clearly very old and repaired multiple times
Star Wars discourse feels a lot like the discourse of people saying that speedrunners hate the games that they play
"no one hates star wars more than star wars fans"
Also
Helmet is more bronze than black if the toy is to be believed
it was more bronze in the show IMO, we've just only seen it in super dark scenes
It vaguely reminds me of Ultimate Sith Edition Starkiller for whatever reason?
ah damn, haven't beaten the game on PC so I can't grab the costume
Abeloth maybe
Oooooo maybe, but not quite what it's reminding me of
might not even be from star wars LMAO
Yeah and his lightsaber has bronze specs in it, which I like
Kinda reminds me of Payday masks
YES
That one
That's the best costume by far
His Hoth design is cool too but his Sith Stalker design is superior in my opinion
I FUCKING KNEW IT
gonna go hit arms real quick
then gonna cosplay as this sexc beast
Qimir? More like Sexy, Stupid, Sith
Qiminion rise up
I'm assuming Qimir is a cover name, so I wonder what his real (and sith) name is
I have a friend who wants to cosplay Jecki 😭
Darth Swolus
Good design, glad he has a hot toys figure, still wish that Sith Stalker armor had more love
Gonna be honest, I think I'm tired of Mae lol
her entire characterization so far has been psychopathic murder child
Yeah I totally get that but she's just really not hitting it for me lol
oh I wasn't disagreeing with you. it's extremely one note
Very abusive dialogue she has
maybe, he was in total shock and didn't pick up on the very bad attempt to be Osha
anyone got a half decent pic at the strangers saber?
Iron Man helmet meets xenomorph mouth?
It feels like Abeloth's mouth, too.
Sith stalker needed to fuck up the arms more
is this his?
or is it kelnaccas
i think it’s kelnaccas ngl
That's his I believe.
bet
Imagine Manny Jacinto cosplaying the Sith Stalker armor
We didn't get pics of kelnacca's in that case of sabers, but we can see the saber in a lot of cast pictures
It's got some like rose gold in it
I just don't care... I'm not a horny teenager
I thought Kelnacca's was the last saber in that collection
The sabers on display are Jecki, Indara, Sol, Yord, Qimir, and Vernestra Rwoh's
In no particular order
In order: Jecki, Vern, Yord, Indara, Qimir, and Sol
Based on the linked chat Nonemi provided
I’m kind of loving the thing people are pissed about this time around. A lot of people are showing they don’t know what cortosis is XD
LOL
Damn even Carly King is calling the nitpickers out.
https://x.com/bigdaddyankee/status/1805815351416176942?t=LhClDvBG9n6iZDL-cv31SA&s=19
“they couldn’t sense the sith????!!!”
obi-wan kenobi & qui-gon jinn couldn’t sense maul behind a DOOR.
there's no reason for people to know what cortosis is...
No but its cool as hell
I agree, but assuming the vast majority of people are consuming every little star wars thing is folly
Now the real question is why there isn't a Cortosis 101 class in the Temple
these are the real questions
Come on Yoda stop talking about how wonderful the mind of a child is and give them the Cortosis wisdom
Sorry for late response to this, but if I’m not mistaken, the whole CGI department for a lot of film and Tv companies are really struggling right now due to lack of unions and poor payment on top of being expected to be able to change up a scene as soon as someone asks for a change. Things are being rushed and not paid well enough, and it shows. Part of it is to “save costs” but part is also because consumers now expect things to come even more quickly, and companies are trying to cater to that in order to max profits
I believe the union thing is correct
didn't they spend 180 mil per episode?
I am astounded that they're more mad about how the didn't sense the Sith and not the force heal
150 went to the lightsaber size.
||I'm sorry||
Like do y'all watch Star wars?
Probably, but it could have cost even more if they paid everyone fairly and made sure the CGI people were able to do their jobs to the fullest extent
23 per episode
If you just divide the 184 mil total by 8 episodes
The premiere episode of Lost cost 13 million and involved bringing a 737 to Hawaii and blowing it up, do you really think they'll spend ten times the average movie budget on a single episode
I didn’t read it correctly and just kinda waved it off lmao, sorry
kinda funny how the acolyte sabers have covertech wheels AND D-rings
yeah its stupid
I noticed that too
Was Qimir's covertec on the base hilt or the shoto hilt?
Was PT only Covertech and OT only D-rings?
eh whatever.
Yes
Ah. Well idk what the deal is
I wish we had more leather holsters
If they do old republic stuff, I wanna see hilt holsters
Honestly Qimir's hilt is the one instance where having both a Covertec and a D-Ring makes sense.
You know, with the whole splitting part.
the shoot
shoto
so they’re both on the same hilt
maybe they just wanted to change how they mounted it based on their mood
Odd
I need to look at his costume in more depth but he doesn't have a leather belt, just the cloth obi. Maybe there was a covertec clip or d ring clip but I didn't notice one
man the jedi really got fucked up on that one huh
yeah I knew some would die
but i did not expect sol to be the only surviving jedi out of that fight
Jecki and Yord's deaths were so badass.
qimir is great I'm dying to know more
Qimir is hot, I'm dying to see more.
Iron man mark XVXVXV
Hi Aaron
Long time no see
How's business
I scrolled down from above, intensive lore discussion it appears
Am i the only one that just enjoys lightsaber goes zoom zoom, guns go pew pew
That’s like 90% of SW fans
It's the 10 percent that don't are really, really loud when they cry
Was there a force heal? I thought he just rolled osha over
It looked like he heals a wound she has
Kinda hard to see because of the lighting lol, but I thought it was force healing too
It was. Healed the wound, but left the blood/dirt/whatever so it was hard to see.
yeah i was tweaking, only considered it because of how long it is
but that’s just because of the dual wield
Don't twist your head too much when you see him
I used a d-ring/covertech wheel combo on my personal saber. I just like it 🤷♂️
Love the rose gold on it
I was kinda expecting it to be a bigger saber blade because it's a wookie one, but oh well
Kelnacca's also has a d-ring and covertec. Maybe they just add them both and by the time of PT, the Jedi find the d-ring redundancy unnecessary
Are there covertec clips and wheels in earlier high republic stuff?
Sol: She was a child
Qimir: Did I ask?
My force sensitive that is crazy, but I don't remember asking - Qimir, probably
Loved the first 2/3 of the episode. Was gritty, action packed, suspenseful. Last 1/3 felt like the other 3 episodes. Which, while it's hard for me to pinpoint why, don't feel like Star Wars to me. Something with the tone or the aesthetic.....IDK.
But overall, I really liked this one. Best of the series, so far.
If I had to nitpick, I'm disappointed they gave away the Qimir twist last week. And this was the first episode I really noticed how huge the sabers were.
Last week... It was pretty obvious week 2
One thing I find kinda funny: Sol told Osha last episode "I'll tell you everything". We all thought that was his death knell, but then he was the only Jedi to survive
Well, we know he's not making it out of this show alive, right? Like, all indications point to it.
Yes, but we all thought he'd die this episode
The death knell is the Sith line
Sol's line to Osha is a cliche and it's neat that he didn't follow the subsequent cliche of dying after that. He probably won't be able to tell Osha what happened but he will tell Mae
I think he knows it's Mae. He didnt ask about Mae, he asked about her sister. Not to mention, the tracker dude seems like he knows. My prediction is Sol manages to disarm Mae, Osha returns, Qimir gets killed by Sol, but Osha chooses to stay with her sister after hearing what Sol did on Brendok, and in doing so, kills Sol, either directly or indirectly. Osha then becomes Mae's acolyte.
Interesting
I feel like Osha would need to be dealt with if she ends up learning Qimir is a Sith
Oh man I just realized that they did play Kylo Ren's theme at the end
Everything leads to the sequels mwahaha
One of the music motifs sounds like a play on the Kylo theme
Ooooh, that actually makes some modicum of sense. The helmet looks like something the Knights in the sequels would wear, and his oblique "the jedi might call me Sith" line might speak to being a Knight, rather than a Sith.
I kinda hope it's not, but if he is, then maybe the Sith kill him or something
If he is, then the Sith are still extinct to the Jedi because he wasn't one
I imagine we'll see a Sith cameo by the end either way, but as of right now, the rest of the Jedi only think there's an assassin trained by a splinter order Jedi. As far as they know, the Sith are extinct.
here I was thinking that maybe he is a sith but he's actually the apprentice and hasn't earned his Darth title yet
but really these sound different to me but still trying to be in that John Williams styling for dark sided characters
What a nice picture, I wonder how their futures will be
Jecki Lon? More like Jecki Long dead
FOUL
I love how qimirs robe made his shoulder were more feminine just to throw off the trail a little bit
Then you see his arms and it’s like either this dudes wolverine or a super jacked woman. Either way attractive as fuck XD
VERY VERY JACKED I THIRST SO HARD OVER HIS SHOULDERS
Nonemi?!
Y'ALL SAW ME LAST NIGHT AND Y'ALL GON' SEE ME AGAIN.
DUDE'S GOT HOT BOULDER SHOULDERS.
I'M DOWN BAD.

y'all need to get laid
Where do you think I'm sending these messages from?
@weary sable log off for a bit and go lift some dumbells
I get the feeling that Osha is gonna be the new Acolyte
This feels like the sort of thing that would happen lol
or some shit like they use the witch magic together and get rid of Qimir at the end of the show
Thats my thought too. Sol will come clean about what happened on Brendok, and Osha will feel so betrayed that she becomes the Acolyte, either to Darth Beef, or to Mae.
Darth Beef?
I feel like Sol has a history with the Darkside
Since everyone is so thirsty for Darth Teeth, he's been renamed to Darth Beef.
The new cow sith coming to a burger chain near you
as for Qimir I do no think he is the master
showrunner did say there were multiple sith
so IDK
I think Qimir is the acolyte
could be wrong but that is what I am assuming
Probably towards end of show we will see who his master is in an end credits sequence
Darth Tenebrous
or whoever
I had that thought in the shower earlier today. where when he said he has no name it means he hasn't earned his Darth title yet
might be one of the acolytes he has throughout the galaxy whom he wants as an apprentice
and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Hego Damask
😉
then again maybe I am too hopeful
what we know about the sith is that they plot and plot to kill their master
Except for Dooku, apparently.
my guess is that Qimir wants both Osha and Mae because they are part of a dyad to use them to kill whoever his master is and then take one of them as his apprentice
Bro got questioned by Palpatine and attempted to off Ventress on the spot.
D00kus was a pawn from the beginning
I doubt anything actually happens like that though... the writing hasn't been fantastic (not awful but not great)
He was more of a politician than a sitrh
Dooku didn't even say "yo go into hiding" or some shit he just went "welp okay byeeee".
If anyone needs evidence of nonemis thirst for qimir. Check the pinned messages of this sub
Honestly his attitude is just as hot as his shoulders.
"Was that its name?"
"She was a child."
"You brought her here."
Guy acts EXACTLY as I would as a sith honestly
Bro is cold and I'm kinda here for it?
The dark side has never been more attractive
What, you're not into a 7 ft tall asthmatic, half robot burn victim in a black leather suit?
I don’t get why he’s trying to lie to Sol about simply wanting to exist in the galaxy when the Sith have very clearly never been content with just existing alongside the jedi
That’s the thing
All sith do is lie and manipulate why do you think
like do you think Sol would just say “ohhhh nvm bro you’re good you can go home now”
I am 80% he has a master
He might not be a Sith at all. There's some level of evidence that he might be a Knight of Ren.
he is NOT the master
When he says “might as well call me a sith” I legitimately don’t think he thinks of himself as a sith
I agree.
That’s just the only thing the Jedi would understand he is
I think the title is also misleading
the Acolyte is Qimir not the sisters
Remember when anakin called the father a Sith Lord?
Qimir @ Sol: Y'all Jedi are too dumb to fathom the fact that non-Sith darksiders with knowledge of the Jedi arts are out there smh
Because the Jedi teach they are the purest form of force users.
no?
Legit this is even written in the Jedi path
Kel-Dor use force to tell weather
Nuance? In my Star Wars?
The Miraluka had their own Force-sensitive order, right?
Unless he turns.
Oh
bbbBBando Gora
Oh there's a thought
Bando Gora not canon?
Sol becomes the Acolyte
Komari Vosa where
Would that not increase the likelihood of death then?
I highly doubt Sol will live through the show, he’ll probably admit to some horrible Jedi wrongdoing and then die making up for it
Sol is on the chopping block for the end of the series for sure
Not if he's a sith moving forward.
Even the Nightsisters worshipped the Force as twin gods right?
Or at least one sect of them, anyways.
Don’t recognize this person at all
depends on which Nightsisters you’re talking about, but I think one of them did
Komari Vosa, one of Dooku’s Dark Side Adepts
from Tales?
Is this not an OC?
IDK if the other sect was nightsisters
no?
their magick didn't seem darkside
she’s from Bounty Hunter
Ah
Sol did something bad that we haven't seen yet. He also showed some anger in the last episode. I think him turning dark has some teeth.
In Legends there were multiple sects of Nightsisters. I'm pretty sure one of them worshipped the Force as twin gods representing Light and Dark, even though they themselves were Darksiders?
She was Dooku's Dark side adept and served as the boss of the 2002 game Star Wars bounty hunter.
She was killed by Jango Fett as a final test to be the template of the clone army
her sabers were later gifted to Ventress
The Bando Gora do exist in canon. They were a force cult that turned into essentially the dark brotherhood from elder scrolls
She also lead the cult called Bando Gora
Weird. Seems like a lot of her characteristics are a proto-ventress
They turned to assassinations and crime syndicate
that’s the other main purpose she serves, Dooku gives Ventress her lightsabers in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars
My only experience with the night sisters pre canon was mauls mother
And I don’t think she’s that
Mine was from an old game called Star Wars Empire at War; Forces of Corruption
Nightsister's name is Silri
My fucking dentist office just Rick rolled me…
I KNEW THERE WAS A REASON I COULDNT TAKE QIMIR SERIOUSLY BRUH HES JASON MENDOZA IN THE GOOD PLACE
all I can think of when I see him is jacksonville Florida
Darth Jianyu.
I just want to see him kill more Jedi
Bruh why is everyone having the hots for Darth Diente xD
He does look better without the mask tho imo
lifter representation
Yord flexing his bod in that one episode:
Qimir:
Ignore caption we welcome all anime content in this house
Lol, thanks.
It’s the muscle mixed with the long-ish wet hair. It attracts both muscle heads and the “dark and brooding” fans
Qimir is like what Kylo could have and should have been
Ben Swolo?
Nah. Qimir.
They are looking for reasons to dislike something. I just ignore them.
This may have already been answered. The actor was in The Good Place, his character Jason is amazing. He was from Jacksonville. He was a HUGE fan of Blake Bortles. He would yell BORTLES and sometimes yell Duval (think the airport in Jacksonville or maybe a neighborhood)
His character was very endearing and lovable. Just awesome to see him in this and slaying.
He was also in Maverick, but like had maybe one scene on camera.
Thanks lol
Ignore Twitter embrace cutting episode down to just six minutes to learn their dueling
Man I love this duel
I only know of Jacksonville because I went down a YouTube rabbit hole and watched a 3 hour lore video about their crazy gang war
I hear it is pretty true that in JVille they yell shit like that
Reading the comments and holy fuck
Huh. Interesting.
How can people be so dumb?
I shall not be doing this. Comment sections are cancer.
Haha, fair enough. I didn't see you had posted them.
I wanted to take a break from building lightsabers after I finish Indara's
But Qimir is making me have second thoughts
I'd really like to figure out a way to make his saber, but semi functional. Maybe the secondary is a baselit with a spring activated telescoping blade?
Idk, I just know I want one.
This should be pinned
And this
Thank God I don't have a twitter and can't read it
Also I figured given how strong he is in the force, but the speculation was fun
A knight of Ren probably couldn't do what he did
Kylo couldn't
Same here. Fully avoided Twitter.
But probably because he doesn't have a lot of training
Kylo did stop a blaster bolt in midair. He's not a complete pushover.
That's true
Unfortunately I feel like just having two hilts that connect at the emitter and pommel and using two separate blades would be ideal.
he cant be one though ?
Yeah, I know that's more practical. But there's a part of me that wants to figure out a way to get it as close to what we see on screen as possible.
@weary sable We need to sculpt a marble statue of this pose and have it as the server pfp
what do you think?
Because the Sith have been dead for 1000 years and magically show up in TPM
I think you can do better than that.
😉
😳
There are better poses and better shots that show his arms off better.
"Girl bye, you're dying!"
As disrespectfully as possible, Qimir can do w/e tf he wants with me.
YEHHHHHHHHHH
Yeah that's a better server pfp.
I just started chewing on cement
Imagine a great saber that splits into two
when does qimir lose his bracer?
Yord
thanks
Yord tried so hard, honestly probably did the best of anyone in the fight
Him and Jecki
i think qimir is refreshing cus yeah hes dark but hes not a full on edge lord like say vader, bane, malgus or kylo ren. dudes not screaming in rage or going berserker or anything you would relate to the sith. for the most part hes collected and just entirely fucking with everyone
Jecki
And she was a child
"she was a child"
no but i thought that teneberous was plagueis's master and i would assume qimir is an apprentice
my favourite still "a lightsaber can immediately melt through 6 inches of steel but this guys jewelry gives them erectile disfunction" like, yeah, welcome to how cortosis works
still 3 episodes left to find out
Didn't Tenebrous have a cortorsis mine?
could still be a thing. the majority of tenebrous's media is subject to change. the only things we know for sure are his name and his apprentice
maybe qimir is teneberous's first apprentice
or hes teneberous
i think theres something more going on
"might as well call me a sith" i dont think he believes hes a sith, its just the only thing the jedi would know.
honestly was surprised that Yord and Jecki got offed, was defs expecting all the other deaths though. but was expecting them to make it to the last or second to last episode
Jecki went out fighting though
i fully expected for sol and jecki to get out of theis episode with yord getting out severely injured
jecki shouldve survived :(
didnt expect jecki to be turned into swiss cheese
Stupid Sexy Sith
I looked into it the mask is was inspired by Donnie Darko
the neck snap genuinely surprised me
i think the thing that bothered me the most was the 100% of just leaving lightsabers behind when they left
Grievous doesn't exist yet
I didn't want Yord or Jeki to die. Like very much. Assumed they wouldn't
But they did
And it hurts
And it just makes it that much more awesome
I believe so, but Darth Bane also was a cortosis miner
I hope he's Venamis
meh, they were ugly hilts anyway
Sol's just needs to be shrunk like 30% lol
THEY FORGOT THE ARMS
I NEED PICS!!!!!
That's Yord's
https://screenrant.com/star-wars-the-acolyte-trakata-lightsaber-technique-canon/ my fellow lightsaber nerds, did we notice Trakata being used? Cause I didn't
Ooh good shot of those boots
only if you count him busting out a second unknown lightsaber
Or at least the shafts lol
But that's not Trakata
It was revealed here https://www.starwars.com/series/the-acolyte/season-1-episode-5-night-episode-guide which also confirmed that's Cortosis
i always viewed it as dog tag like.
I mean I need to rewatch the episode but I didn't actually see it
I did not notice him turn off his saber unless we're talking about the moment before Jecki dual wields
It's definitely not Trakata.
Qimir's move relied entirely on the element of surprise.
And had nothing to do with Trakata techniques.
One of the few times we've seen Trakata used in canon is when Cal fought the Second Sister on Bogano.
Trakata being mentioned just feels more like trying to appease legends enjoyers but not understanding what they actually put in the episode
The concealed weapon was cool, but it wasn't Trakata. Not even close. There was no active, conscious thought that concerned the technique of manipulating the appearance of the blade.
Yeah this must be a mistake on some team, Qimir may have used a Trakata technique once but none of that choreography registered as Trakata
honestly they probably just cut the scenes where he used it
Screenrant is just trying to appeal to Legends enjoyers and get attention.
unfortunately that argument doesn't work with it being mentioned on the official website
especially funny since they excplicity state what Trakata is
Considering what happens in the show contradicts the description, eh.
Like, don't get me wrong, the move is definitely within the same line of philosophy as Trakata, maybe even taking inspiration from it. But it's not.
Qimir might use Trakata later on though. He seems like the type.
The Jedi didn't use Trakata because it was dishonourable, and the Sith didn't use it because they thought Trakata was for pussies.
I don't think Qimir cares.
I just think they cut the scenes where it happened. like with the Kelnaca fighting
I still think the Kelnacca thing is gonna be in a flashback from the other POV of the coven
This is beyond me.
cuz he was fighting Torbin
I think we still have to see a flashback
I was hoping the episode would open with a brief flashback to Qimir hanging by the foot, and after watching Mae run off he'd sigh, pull his saber and cut the rope, get in costume and meet Kalnacca, and then finally the titlecard
Me fr
did Ren ever get a birth year? Could Qimir be Ren?
I was thinking of this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren_(Star_Wars)
Ren is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Created by writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney, he first appeared in Marvel Comics' 2019–2020 Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren comic book series. Ren became a breakout character, appearing in 2021 in the comic series Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters and Star Wars: Crimson Reign,...
says he is human, so he would be rather old if he is alive the same time as kylo
maybe this one https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ren_(Ren's_predecessor)
so this is why sol survived...
I still think the teeth look goofy tbh
Why is the helmet on preorder tomorrow but ships in Q3 2025
That’s hasbro for ya. It’ll likely come out sooner than that.
I think Hasbro has done that for a lot of their high end stuff. Helmets, proton packs, even their nerf mandalorian pulse rifle all were pre-order waaaaaay ahead of when it releases.
If I recall correctly, their ahsoka saber was announced around this time last year and is just now finally starting to ship.
Thats sounds right, but I wasn't following that one super close.
Just looked it up. Announced July 2023 with availability listed as Fall 2024.
im so glad that they flipped qimirs personality for when he went total dark sider
like in the first couple episodes dude was the perfect fucking loser no body side kick character
then this shit comes in and holy fuck my guy is a totally different person
Good ole dark side deception.
Similar to Senator/chancellor palps vs sidious personalities
palpatine though already had a sense of power behind him
guy was legit the head of the galaxy long before he revealed his sith side
qimir though pulls of rando fuck off the street to oh my fucking god this dude will kill every single one of you choke me daddy
See, I think we watch ep1-3 without having the prior knowledge of who palps becomes, it would feel similar. A prim and proper govt figure who is actually a sith master and master duelist
That skit was and still is hilarious
A lot of people who are ripped just look skinny wearing normal clothes lol
Dark colored clothes hide a lot
i don't work out enough so i'm unfamiliar
That was a dark episode, loved the choreography in the fights, especially the two Jedi force pulled onto that lightsaber.
Ok, must learn to not get attached to characters.
The sisters have swapped, right, or am I assuming that has happened?!
It appears they have swapped.
@weary sable https://x.com/CATD3MON/status/1806027207719932284
This could make for a very interesting set of episodes, does Osha now become the apprentice and go Sith, whilst Mae, who’d been having a change of heart join the Jedi.
Could they both now become Sith sisters.
Oh Mae isn't joining the jedi. Due to her knowing the Sith exists, she either has to die or be allied with them
Aye, of course.
I have no idea what her plan is though lmao, sabotage Sol? frame him somehow?
Because Sol has to die too, unfortunately.
HECK YEAHHH
Cloud everything the dark side does
have a feeling Osha's final test to join Darth Qimir is going to be killing Sol after she learns the truth, and killing Mae to cement her loyalty to the Sith in some way
I feel like if Osha goes that way, it's not going to be intentional. She's just gonna do all the things he's looking for inadvertently lol.
idk I get the sense that whatever she's going to learn about Sol is going to completely shatter her trust in him and her worldview of the jedi
he listens to Drake
That'd do it
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I guess so??
"while some may call him a sith" "this darksider" so is he a sith or not at this point? getting mixed messages from the promotions
Also looks like his lightsaber is rather long when it’s not split. Maybe the one we saw pictures of from the early screening was just part of his hilt and not the full one.
they could be like how Cal's are in Survivor where there's parts that can recess to fit together? I think that's the right wording?
Possibly, need better shots of it
What I’m getting from that is that he is not a sith, just a darkside user. But Jedi and others would assume he is a sith until they know better?
Yea, that’s from an actor. I don’t trust what they say lol
Remember the one actor said Anakin blew up the Death Star.
Most actors don’t have much knowledge of the lore. He probably sees that he is wielding a red lightsaber so he calls himself a Sith Lord
Guess we'll see how it'll all play out eventually, and i gotta just stop worrying about it
My guess is that they name him The Stranger because we don't know his Darth title
Or if he is a Darth yet
This feels more like tom Holland spoiling shit than someone saying Anakin blew up the death star though
YEAHHHHHHH
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There's a part of me that want to take a crack at making that helmet out of metal.
I'm not a great welder, but that will add to the overall look, I think.
Bro that'd be crazy. I'm all for it though.
The teeth, aside from the very front, look like lengths of flexible cable conduit, 2 on each side.
It’s only $100??? Frothing at the mouth rn trying not to buy it
just ran into someone saying the episode was bad because killing jecki and yord was wasteful
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Star Wars fans try not to complain about shit challenge: INSTANT FAIL
they legit didnt even install the game before failing it.
Because they tried to install it on a toaster.
Hey I mean if you can run doom on bacteria cells…
Well. At least Dafne can come back as a human character.
Charlie would need to be an alien the next time lol.
I'm really hoping she continues her career in action oriented roles. Between this and Logan, she's got such a great ability to make elaborate combat believable.
Her fight with The Stranger was nuts, it was absolutely brutal.
I’d really warmed to her character too.
Her character wasn't the only warm thing.
The lightsaber that went through her three times was pretty warm, too.
This would make sense. If Sol was taken by the Jedi before Qimir was born, and he grew up jealous.
"It's like poetry. It rhymes."
Sol training Osha and Qimir training Mae.
The sun and the moon, training the light and the dark.
Ooh, I really like this idea. It would also help explain the near obsession Sol has concerning Osha and Mae. They mirror his own experience.
Lmao "family drama" is just classic Star Wars at this point
Aye lollolooooololol
That ties in with the sun like eclipse logo in the word Acolyte.
this entire channel is the kind of thing i expect to see from a channel called star wars theory. meanwhile the actual channel is just filled with hate
The whole story of Star Wars is one dynastic family making all of their personal struggles everyone else's problem, haha.
Maybe Sol and Qimir are the Sun and Moon to OSHA
OSHA feels the temptation of the dark side
He needs to just rebrand as "Star Wars Complaining" or "Star Wars Whining" 😂
Interesting
Could work? Age difference might be a bit wonky but you can probably wave that off with the whole “Asians don’t raisin” thing or the force.
Or their potential family raises Qimir with hatred for Jedi for taking Sol away, even though it’s like technically a choice?
by his own words he straight admits he hasnt enjoyed star wars since mando season 1 and is just going to get more hateful the longer he goes on about it.
To be fair, there is now a financial incentive for him to be hateful about it, so I'm willing to bet that even if he enjoys something, he's only going to nitpick and complain about it to drive views.
hes large enough to actually enjoy it and make videos that arnt toxic about it. i know because generation tech is doing just that and theory has FAR larger an audience
Good point. Maybe it's just that driving engagement via outrage is the easier path. You know, giving in to emotion in order to gain short term power faster. I think this franchise has a term for that...
i truly believe its just outrage media
It's exhausting. If I'm going to watch a review of anything, it's going to have to come from a positive place. Screencrush and CinemaWins are both great for that.
generation tech is the best for me right now because allen is legitimately going to call out faults and rave about the best shit. he actually feels like a proper review
and star wars explained
no fucking word of his work out routine is criminal
fr give us the arm day list
ngl they dropped so many kylo motifs in this episode too LMAO
Damn
First time in a while I’ve seen saber combat that is like super fluid and smooth
I’ve only seen the out of context sequel stuff
i think the average quality of this duel's choreo was better than the average quality of the anakin v obiwan duel
anakin v obiwan duel reached higher highs and lower lows
and was shot/directed better in terms of lughting
*lighting
however there were a few camera angles and shots here that really had the sauce in it
just didnt like the blue grayish lighting all that much
also qimir ran away off screen a suspicious amount of times for plot purposes?
maybe he was just chasing mae
It also helps probably that some of the people fighting were “nameless” so they could easily just be played by stunt performers
Hate absolutely can lead to gains, defs saw it a lot in the military
in which case he comes off as more literally genuinely insane as opposed to trained sith master
I think that's probably closer to the truth. He stops just short of calling himself a sith, and even Yord mentions that his fighting style and movements don't make sense. I think he's some other darksider, and that by the end of the show, he'll be killed by the true Sith, for daring to appropriate their order, and risk exposing them.
knight of ren is something id bet money on
i agree with this
i also like to think that i could see forms of saber combat there
sol looks very soresu
jecki ataru
qimir juyo with a touch of djem so
Same
there are three episodes left right
I believe so, yes.
I know there's a flashback in at least one of those episodes.
i have my gripes with the show as a whole but i like that they are at least trying new things
And we still haven't seen Master Vernestra in combat
doubt we will ngl
There was a quick shot in one of the trailers.
Yeah and assuming we're not getting a second season right?
ive been avoiding trailers for the most part
Thats fair, my wife does the same.
I on the other hand want to watch all trailers and speculate, haha.
Disney gonna take one look at the reviews and stamp it with a “nuh uh” if they were thinkin abt a season two
which is doubt they were anyways
fair enough LMAO
i like to be surprised so
It's also possible that they just cut those parts of the show too
im avoiding any andor s2 trailers for a similar reason
trusting diego luna to bust it down on that one
it would make sense given that they relegated the entire matter to a lower council anyways because
yknow
senate
corruption
politics
hooray
i love the jedi order becoming a bureaucratic mess
Honestly wish they would have just released the Acolyte as a film instead of a TV show... Every episode just feels like the parts where a TV network decided to insert an ad break
and that gives them an out to not report darksider findings ig
yeah
really dislike the eight part movie format
They did that specifically because Solo got such a bad return. Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and the Acolyte were all originally meant to be films.
They were re tooled into shows to avoid theater fatigue and help boost Disney+
Ironically, I think Solo would have been better as a show.
eh. i think solo was perfect the way its was set.
At least I'm pretty sure that's what happened.
sometimes it surprises me how much star wars under disney is under the yoke of what they perceive to be fandom sentiment
Honestly i think the Jedi would have worked better being more Samurai (OT inspiration) rather than Buddhist monks (PT onwards) but whatever I'm not George Lucas and what's done is done
Thats not new, though. I think the Darth Jar Jar theory was closer to what George intended than not, but everyone hated Jar Jar so much that he changed plans.
buddhism was a major part of samurai culture but yeah i think i get what u were tryna say
LMAO
After a certain point yeah, but yeah it's why I specified monks
im not sure how much George let the fandom sway his thinking process but my impression was always that he didnt much care what they thought that much
i could be wrong
He didn't, he had investors who didn't like his ideas
yeah thats fair
i do like what lucas did with the force in the pt but it would have benefited from those films being better executed as a whole
as would many things
I feel like I remember an interview where he acknowledged how disheartened he was at the backlash to TPM.
yeah
He let it sway him enough to where people said he “killed and did unsavory acts to their childhood” which is to say pretty much not at all
ig he did also end up selling sw in no small part due to fan backlash too
ah i remember seeing that
i was not alive at the time but yeah
It’s certainly… a take, I’ll give them that
And Jar Jar was always intended to be comedic relief. But they didn't like his original sith witch idea and that it might scare kids, and then they just made a new sith every movie instead of sticking with Maul the whole PT until the end.
i will say i care about star wars a lot but making statements as extreme as that is
hm
maybe ones life should not hinge on a franchise managed by those outside your control
Thats fair. I just felt like the Darth Jar Jar theory fit the "rhyming" type structure he likes in his writing. He'd have been like an inverted Yoda.
Probably, but we like to care too much about trivial things
LMAO
ill have to do some research into that when i get home; id never heard of the darth jar jar stuff for the original pt plans before
It was just Internet forum ideas from people who hated Jar Jar with no real merit
Darth jar jar as far as I can tell has always been a meme
It was a big reddit theory a number of years ago. They cite Jar Jars bizarrely good luck, some background shots where it appears he could be doing a mind trick type thing, and honestly, he was the one who ended giving Palpatine emergency powers.
Maybe I'm just hopeful that a silly idea was real, haha.
Hey there’s people who thought Jar Jar could be Snoke at some point
Pretty bad idea to be offing main cast if you want a second season...
MORE VICTIMS YAYYYY
Depends on who survives through the end. It is titled the Acolyte, not Sol's Lament.
i remember darth jar jar as a meme and never as a genuine theory LMAO
its almost as if you can create new characters and hire new actors
It has always been a meme
thats crazy
what a strange idea, not sure what delusions are going on in there chief /j
It got super memed, but I remember reading a really long post that actually laid out some good points, that sort of swayed me into believing it a bit more.
the jist of it is that everything that happens is Jar-Jar's fault lol
I'd like to find that post as well. I that it would have been a kind of neat storytelling device. Take bumbling Yoda from ESB, make him tall, keep him talking weird, and make him evil.
tbf if that hoe didnt give palpy emergency powers things woulda been different
Everything being your fault when you're one of the good guys is bad. Everything being your fault because you are an evil mastermind is another thing entirely. I like the idea, and I can't wait to see it in Lego form in Sept, hah.
Someone else would have done it even if Jar Jar didn't, he'd been lobbying for it
thats true
but jar jar is there for me to conveniently blame
and who am i to ignore low hanging fruit
it's a little concerning there's only 3 episodes left ngl
I'm not really sure how satisfying a story they're going to be able to tell in that little time
thats what I assumed
with all the backlash/hate the show has gotten its hard to say if disney would greenlight a 2nd season even if the story could use one
Are there any ratings on the amount of overall viewing numbers it has achieved per episode, how is it actually doing as a show?
well there is this https://screenrant.com/star-wars-the-acolyte-viewership-data-real-indicator/
Thanks!
So SWT recently posted a video saying that hate isn't what gets you money, but shilling. What is everyone's thoughts on it? I don't agree but I'm curious how everyone would contend or agree with him
It depends on how he's defining "shilling." If he's using it as a catch all term for folks that like the Disney stuff, then he's being dishonest, and likely knows it. If he truly believes that the people who post positive reviews and videos are being paid by Disney to do so, then that's actual shilling, and is also dishonest, but on Disney's side.
The greater point is that the algorithms that serve places like FB and YouTube thrive on emotion, anger in particular. Studies have been done that show that people engage more on social media when they're angry.
It's whatever gets you more views to get more ad revenue or sponsorship money
He basically said his most viewed thing was Mando s2 stuff when he was crying about Luke (no hate, was a good moment). Buttttt, then I looked at his recent content and all the acolyte stuff performed better than his bad batch stuff
Also his content about anti Disney was his most viewed content so that's why I want to say he's bs-ing but I like to have other opinions too
He is a moron
nah he's just a hypocritical grifter
The anti Disney stuff was bound to get more views, for 2 reasons. 1) There is a built in audience for that, from the day they declared the old EU as no longer canon, and 2)Being angry is physiologically addictive, so the more you feed into it, the better it feels. We as a society have a lot of latent anger roiling around, some for good reasons, others less so. Folks looking to make a quick buck capitalize on that, and I believe that's a large part of what we're seeing.
Finally caught up on all the episodes
And I'll admit, I was halfway onboard that train for a while. I thought the sequels were boring and the writing/directing lacked a clear focus.
But then people kept getting mad about things that weren't actually problems and I hopped off lmao.
He became a dropshipper so like... kinda hypocritical in a way?
and he shills his shop link in just about everything he posts now too
Yes lol
So yeah, it's classic projection. Everyone who disagrees with him is a shill, not like the true fans who agree and buy stuff from him.
How does disagreement make you a shill
because it means you like Disney SW and you can only like Disney SW if you're a Disney shill
checkmate, shill!
Thats SWTheory's claim, not mine.
||I'm just happy that one guy died, I couldn't stand him I thought his acting was AWFUL||
Acolyte spoiler above
Which one
who
I was gonna say, that has to be narrowed down 😆
Crap what's his name
the fact that he props up all the villains of the series on a pedestal really shows where his mindset is at
he simps so hard for Vader, the guy you're not supposed to like
The prominent side character that couldn't act for shit
I don’t think it needs to be one or the other. You can like some stuff and not others. Which is why I find the hate train really stupid. I absolutely despised kenobi and ahsoka and most of mando, but I gave this show a shot anyway and found I liked it quite a bit
And the one that said things like anakin blew up the death star
Yord?
Yeah him
WHAT
It's Yordver
Exactly. I liked all the shows you despised, and that's fine. People like different things. But there's a problem when you're inciting further and further anger and obsessing over how it ruined this or broke that. It's not that hard to say "I didn't care for it" and move on.
Not you specifically, @wild cove, but in general.
You can dislike whatever you dislike but shoving it down other people's throats or blaming it on the wrong reasons is just... blegh
Though the diehard fanatics are also not helping things either
Labeling anyone who dislikes the show as a white supremacist... like what
people will say "not every media should be made for everyone" and then go on to bitch about how something doesn't cater to their exact wants for a series
real
There is a weird thing where people are drawn to bad news/negative things. I just think about a couple of characters at my workplace and what they do daily for example, sharing and spreading lies/negative things for their own betterment, it’s like they feed off of the energetic buzz it gives them.
Let’s not act like there aren’t mfs in this server who were complaining about a lack of white people tho
Lmao yeah...
Most of them left now
I wanna tag them so badly
I personally am not really liking the show, I'd give it like a solid 5.5/10
I like it more than ahsoka but that’s a low bar to set
Lazy storyboarding/writing, poor acting, too many marketing/product placement schemes
That’s Star Wars for you
Fantastic setpiece designs though
I feel like it's even worse than normal
George just designing the entire prequels to sell toys lmao
I think that’s a symptom of them using savi workshop hilts
That and them CLEARLY FLASHING AND SHOWING THEM
Getting angry at a show because it has people of colour is so dumb
screams
Agreed
The bit where they stopped for an ice cold can of Diet Coke was a bit weird in hindsight
I had a customer come in who disliked the show bc the actors weren’t Star Wars fans
But like
Can you fucking blame them
though they were probably told to do that by marketing
so I can't really blade the director or anyone, but some dumb suit in an office somewhere
Dude Harrison Ford could care less about SW
Being cast in a Star Wars thing is like being marked for death
And he played fucking Han Solo
like I always remember the movie Grandma's Boy and the fucking Vitamin Water placed conspicuously in every scene lmao
wait until you hear how Alec Guinness felt about it
Fallout actors didn't know anything about fallout for the most part and that show wad amazing
Ever seen Demolition Man?
Like I’d rather be publicly executed than cast in live action Star Wars
That movie has the best product placement I’ve ever seen
Anyways I’d love to stay and shit but the new deep rock season calls
Nah it's definitely Mac & Me
If anything I kind of wish that acolyte was either better than it is or worse, because if it was worse it'd be entertaining bad, but right now it just feels meh, outside of the fights in 5
The directors and writers (specially writers should know about SW)
Not being hardcore fans but know the basics at least
My main complaint is honestly the pacing
I think that's been the problem with all of their series
It feels like we’re just getting started and it’s more than halfway over
writers and directors should absolutely care, but if an actor can play the role well while also not giving a shit about the series (lookin at you Harrison) fuck it, they got the best performance
Yeah, I feel that too, the cliffhanger in 4 was weirdly paced.
They either need to move a lot fucking faster or start having 12+ ep seasons
apart from andor lol because that had 12? episodes
Is it bad of me that I find it hilarious that individual people seem to think they have the final say in what is or isn’t Star Wars?
I just think the story isn't great, and waaaaay overly predictable
in some interview they said it was cut off from where they intended to end it
it definitely feels like it was intended to be a binge release show
probably meant to be 6 episodes originally
I think it's funny how many people have assumed that a single person in the company is supposedly to blame for an entire ip apparently going to shit
It just felt really weird, like whooooosh…. the end.
Does anyone else find the endings of each episode weirdly cut?
Yep, my biggest gripe.
WELLLLL
That's a discussion for another chat lmao
I miss the days of 22 episode seasons
saaaaaaame
Yeah. It was nice that Andor had time to breathe and allow us to soak up the dystopian Empiric atmosphere and tone.
i was there too. i had this happen with other shows as well. being nitpicky to the point of forgetting why i enjoyed the series/story in the first place
32 minutes of weekly product placements and horrible advertising would like to have a word with you 😂
i personally like the shorter episodes. although wish we'd get more of them
It must be my age, I grew up watching old sci fi shows that were about an hour long, sometimes these modern shows feel chomped or often rushed.
Rushed is a good word for it
i just want to be able to watch shorter episodes. sometimes its hard to find an hour uninterupted to watch
I don’t really mind the shorter runtime. Just when it’s only 8 episodes it feels stingy
we just need 10 hours of content for a season. 10 1 hour eps or 20 half hour eps
I wonder how sabersmiths will create qimir’s saber because both blades come from the same side. The emitter of the 2nd is buried under the 1st
Honestly the pacing is a huge issue that I see in both Ahsoka and The Acolyte.
Ahsoka is also suffering from a massive lack of context tbh.
I get that Filoni wanted Ahsoka to stand as its own show, but it really shouldn't have.
Everything that happened in Ahsoka aside from Sabine getting Qui-Gon'ned was actually pretty reasonable given what happened in Rebels.
But none of that was mentioned or shown.
Not easily. It's two separate sabers with a twist mechanism to split it. Basically a staff with one side being a dagger. Issue is it's length is like... shorter than a Yoda hilt?
The Acolyte feels too slow as well. We're on episode 5 of The Acolyte and just now getting our first large-scale action scene.
have you read the books? they go so much further
the show basically ends in arc 2 of 3
Was the action scene some of the best dueling we've gotten in a while? Yes.
Was it worth waiting 5 episodes for? I'm not sure.
well, it was pitched as a "murder mystery" show not an "action combat" show so I'm okay with it
It's a really bad murder mystery though
Like really bad
Yeah it’s gonna be tough. I mean, yes they can do a longer hilt with 2 crystals (1 each split hilt) but the 2nd hilt won’t have a blade unless you attach it after disconnecting. So unlike a conventional staff where both blades are coming from opposite ends, with this either you have to use the connected hilt and only have 1 blade attached or disconnect them from the beginning and attach the blades as one would normally do.
It would be amazing to be able to do it like he did but idk how that will work
It's definitely a murder mystery.
I'm slowly warming up to The Acolyte (y'all can thank Qimir for that) but if we don't get a second season then it's yordver.
Not just film, as noir's also in literature
Honestly I don't think the bare bones (like, just the premise) of The Acolyte are too bad, but as usual, the execution falls flat.
Yep, Poirot would’ve given up.
Unfortunately no.
I don't really watch movies. Heck I barely watch Star Wars episodes.
I watched the Acolyte in small chunks like a degenerate.
The last time I was able to sit through long episodes was actually the Ahsoka series.
Ahh
And y'all know how I am about Rebels.
So you know exactly what happened on Brendok, then? Do tell.
Sorry I was gone for a bit but I like y'all points on Theory. I also would say his dropshipping shit makes me doubt his statement
Also, for the record: I do think Ahsoka was a huge disappointment. But it's my disappointment, and I liked Rebels too much to hate it.
I personally liked Ahsoka but I can see why people don't
Don't forget his horrible lightsaber
Ahsoka did many things wrong, including the absolute blasphemous depiction of Sabine that lacked details about her past.
But I've chosen to enjoy Ahsoka, and I think from now on, I'm just gonna enjoy The Acolyte as well.
Which one? The Tactical Warhead one?
Valid
the turd saber
Pics?
The Acolyte has been a mess up until now, and I agree, but the mess is slowly cleaning itself up, just as it did during Ahsoka.
The trend with Disney Star Wars shows seems to be "bad at first, good or even amazing by the end of it".
That last sentence is how I approach almost all media now. I choose to like the things I watch.
What the fuck is this
I just want to poke my fucking eyes out when I see that thing
This is a Jedi's weapon?
and he skimped out on fabrication of it so the shroud thing started breaking and people gave SP Sabers (who handled the modeling and machining) enough shit over it that he quit the hobby
Oh my god
pretty much. i didnt much care for andor and skipped it until my fiance asked to watch it with me
(trying to find the other one since idk if/where I saved any pics of it)
That is horrendously ugly.
I want to see it in real speed
Yeah I was going through some videos of his and I'm just extremely disappointed he's the most subscribed SW YouTuber
Fuckin Ray Park comments on his Instagram videos and it's sad
Nick Gillard too
That's the Cin Drallig guy right?
Yes
Yep
sigh
Also, for me personally, one of my favourite parts of any piece of media is the visuals.
Disney Star Wars, if nothing else, has absolutely god-tier visuals.
Like the dude agrees with Andrew Tate, why do people defend his ass
Aye, me too. I always get the art books as accompaniments, like a good sauce on your favourite burger.
This is gonna be a very controversial take, but Admiral Holdo's Hyperspace Ram was one of the single coolest shots in Star Wars history.
Argue with a wall.
Real, and costumes
It's super disappointing that SWTheory has the reach and platform that he does.
So disappointing
I totally agree. My jaw dropped in the theater.
One of my favourite parts of the saber hobby and Star Wars in general is the design aspect.
Especially that Anime sound edit version 😂
Like, I'm gonna throw my heart on the floor.
I don't care how bad Star Wars' writing gets from hereon out.
If it remains visually appealing, I will still pay attention.
I may be pirating the Star Wars. But I'll still be around.
Ahh here's the original griftsaber
$800 for a Xeno2 core 🤣
He dropships, not resells. He doesn't quality check the hilts and keep them in hand, he dropships them straight from the txq factories
And that was 850$
Ikr
You're right, I spoke quickly
But remember, according to him, the ones who like the Disney stuff are the shills...
Agreed, I actually do like this one, but not for that price
If you enjoyed that scene and the implications of using that as a weapon... I urge you to check out Ryk Brown's "The Frontiers Saga"
A lot of people complained about the Hyperspace Ram from The Last Jedi, but what if it were a little more accurate to the lore?

Intro/Outro Mus...
Duly noted.
But I will say that I've already used it as inspiration to take it a step further in my own fictional universe.
(One of my main characters in my universe blows up a planet by ramming a starship into it at "post-light speed")
And then he speaks out of both sides of his mouth, encouraging peace and civility while mocking wookieepedia and JJ for doing their jobs
I've seen this video probably a million times.
Sad face emote.
One thing I wish more companies would do is have more greeblies that look like buttons, like how the prequel sabers are
Exactly. Having strong feelings one way or the other isn't inherently a bad thing. But being so transparently dishonest is shameful, especially for someone with that kind of reach in this space.
Context for last part: when he said JJ sucks because he wanted to blow up coruscant instead of hosnian prime
a true palpatine move if I've ever seen
The phrase "Niatoos Palpatine" came into my mind in response to this comment.
What have you done??
Or just never encouraging a welcoming and inclusive space. Eckhart's Ladder is critical of the Disney stuff, but he's super welcoming and shit, and if I remember correctly he's apart of the same book club Alex and Mollie from SW Explained are on
Which, btw, SW Explained is like just the best, he was my first star wars YouTuber back in '15 when I was getting back into the fandom as a teen
I like Eckhart's a lot, for those exact reasons. You can dislike something without being a dick to the people who do like it.
You turned them against me???!
See, even Eckhart's Ladder isn't always critical. He still has his moments of praise.
I've never seen SWT say a good thing about Disney SW.
I think I literally just saw Eckhart's Ladder say Ep5 of Acolyte was cool.
Like deadass I'm so sure I saw it pass me by on my feed.
He liked it but didn't like the directing, saying he didn't like how Qimir scampered off several times, which... fair criticism
Indeed.
But it's not even a backhanded compliment.
It's straight praise and straight criticism.
The way it should be.
Yeah, Eck is really measured in his videos. They're about what he likes and didn't like. What they aren't about is why you shouldn't like it, and how everyone involved is insulting the "real fans"
Thats my main issue with the hate train. I like debate. I love explaining how I saw this scene or that movie, and why I like or dislike that. But I don't try to dictate what you should or shouldn't like, or insult anyone involved in the creative process, even if I didn't like it.
Eck and Generation Tech are the top for me
Eck and Screencrush are my go to review/easter egg channels. Other than that, my whole youtube is gamers and makers.
