When I asked someone about it they said there was the potential that I could not post it as a "winner gets to pick between the two" sort of thing. I just want to keep one for myself but didn't have a preference. If I put both in here it would have been seen as I was auctioning both, so I decided to do the UNCAUGHT one instead.

I was just trying to acknowledge that I saw the bid so that no one holds balls/pokemon. Aerodactyl isn't high on my priority list so I didn't feel like accepting that bid as I was under the impression that I should only accept a bid if (in theory) the auction ended right now that I would be satisfied with said offer.

You should only accept a bid if you are fine with it, both parties are obligated to follow through if that bid REMAINS the top bid by the time it ends. If someone offers something you like more you can choose that as the new top bid.
