I doubt they will do this since some people can just try to use this for malicious intent or to be funny or just trolling and try to get banned just to get either the counter up or have a good laugh and then the admins have to deal with probably all the people who did this and want to get back on here now

it already has the potential for malicious abuse, albeit a very slight one. they dont have to let anyone back in as the channel already clearly states, so I dont really see how this would create much more work for them.
if we're going to have a self-destruct channel, then why not jazz it up a little?
