Big reason I still think we don’t use a ticket system or anything similar here is because it’s just not feasible. We’re welcome to already privately message any online moderator (I’m not sure what you mean by “don’t know who,” you won’t get in trouble with anybody) and that does help quickly resolve small personal issues like serious inquiries. However, sometimes bigger things happen and because there are so many channels for people to be in and out of, it saves a lot of time to just slap it in that channel that already exists. It’s easy for anyone involved to show up when interested or called upon, even potentially saving hassle from multiple users creating a channel using Modmail for the exact same problem. As a side note, that also helps with transparency between staff and the rest of us. No need to create unnecessary clutter and make things less accessible and/or more intimidating for everybody. However, this is a frequently asked question and by no means do I speak for anyone but me. I’ve just contributed this answer to the same or similar suggestion(s) a couple times now and haven’t been told not to.

We don't do modmail because it's impersonal and seal doesn't like it (I don't like it either)
