Each player gets to choose a region. Regions 1 and 2 are stacked together.

Your character's team must include 4 random non-legendary, non-mythical pokémon INTRODUCED IN THE GENERATION, one starter OF YOUR GENERATION, and one cover legendary OF YOUR GENERATION. Here are the available cover legendary choices:

- Kanto/Johto: Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh

- Hoenn: Groudon, Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Rayquaza (normal) (Mega Rayquaza is banned)

- Sinnoh: Dialga, Palkia, Giratina

- Unova: Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Kyurem-White, Kyurem-Black

- Kalos: Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde (50%), Diancie, Diancie-M

- Alola: Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma (any form except Ultra), Zygarde (10% and 100%)

- Galar: Zacian, Zamazenta, Zacian-C, Zamazenta-C, Eternatus, Urshifu-S, Urshifu-R, Calyrex-S, Calyrex-I

- Paldea: Koraidon, Miraidon
The order of region pickers will be randomized once all 8 players join the tournament. You can change your team mid matches, but all teams must follow the format.
An elimination tournament will then be held. Matches include quarter-finals, semifinals, dispute for 3rd place (between semifinal losers) and finals.
Z-Moves, Dynamaxing and Terastallizing are not allowed. Mega Evolutions are locked to the generation in which their base form was introducted, AS WELL AS the game they were introducted. For example, Mega Gardevoir is allowed on Gen 3 and 6, as it was introduced in 3 and it's mega in XY. Mega Gallade is allowed on Gen 3 and 4, as it was introduced in 4 and it's mega, in ORAS.
