Normal conversation in there is completely fine. When there's very little raids, there's nothing for people to do other than talk. Do you expect people to just ghost the channel until there are raids?
Hosts tend to like it when there's activity, makes them feel like they aren't just robots hosting for the masses
If people want to talk theyre allowed to
there is channels for a reason
you can always host a raid yourself?
Nobodys gonna host if theres no activity
Hosts are not robots, chatting in the channel is allowed because it helps them enjoy hosting a bit more
despite being more hosts and activity in tera 1, there is still a lot more activity about raids
btw talking is allowed just add SLOWMODE
for more activity on tera raids from people that may even not host raids
Theres a 5 second cooldown already
I'm confused, maybe you can clear this up. You want people to host, but you also don't want people to talk unless it's about raids. When would hosts know people are around to host a raid if people aren't talking?
Whats to not make it feel like a raid channel
im saying less talking by having slowmode
not entirely
Serverwide is 5 seconds, thats good enough
There are many servers that just have discord bots posting raids with no comments at all, if you prefer those you're welcome to try them out
We've had this conversation many times, but as long as the conversation isn't completely intruding on current raids then there is no problem. Raid channels will have downtimes and it's better to have places to chat instead of just a dead channel
(Also our raid helpers are in charge of managing the channels so if theyre talking then its probably because its allowed the way it is)
The general rule is if there are many raids going on, then we ask people to tone it back. But with the game now ~4+ months old, many people have moved on to other games. Thus there aren't as many people hosting raids
When there are less raids, people have more leeway to talk about other topics, because there aren't any raids to drown out
Also its a good idea to talk in those channels cuz if people see the channel dead, thats when they start going to more alive channels like general and sv discussion with codes, cuz like previously stated, theyd rather host in an active channel rather than a dead one
