So I've recently gotten into the VGC. Farthest I've gotten is Pokeball Tier and I feel like I'm stuck there. Maybe it's cause I'm bad at teambuilding, maybe it's poor battle strategies... whatever the case may be, I need some help from someone more experienced. I've got my team that I want to use but I need it improved upon since bad teambuilding. Thanks so much<3

Sorry if something is unclear, bad photo

yep!

But your team doesnt really have a lot of synergy. You should always use armarouge with indeedee, expanding force is too good to pass up, you're focusing on HO which is fine, your speed control is lackluster, dozo completely rips this team apart. Murkrow is just a better tailwind setter and prankster haze should patch up a lot of weaknesses. Ditch one of these mons for indeedee, or just don't use armarouge. Don't run defensive goldy, use specs/scarf. No reason to run muscle over choice band on palafin, focus punch is garbage use icepunch/zenbutt
ditch thunder fang on chomp, rock slide is just better.
also what is kilowattrel doing here instead of murkcrow
You might also need to consider adding paradox pokemon
theyre banned lmao
oh crap i forgot they were added this season
wait what
no no they were added season 3
paradox is legal??
right now yeah
i still can't use them in ranked wtf
Wdym
when were they added
Series 2 started 6 days ago
yeah
Oh yeah
Literally every team is paradox mon
yeah lol
shoot
idk how to use them properly though, it seems like they'd be good
Just pick 2 or 3 out of these and you can't go wrong lol - flutter mane, iron bundle, iron hands, great tusk, brute bonnet
Dondozo isn't as prevalent now but you definitely want an answer
mm yeah true
why would you use brute bonnet
amoongus
Amoongus has no offensive pressure
Brute bonnet can ohko stuff
Amoongus is still good but it has a different role
Brute bonnet is basically meowscarada 2.0
But with more utility
Brute bonnet also has no regenerator, no fairy resist, no fighting resist
You can tera out if u need
also 4x weak to u-turn
But again, it has a different role
it's just mid af
It's role is both damage and utility
Have u even seen recent tournaments
It's great
7/32 top cut had brute bonnet
10/32 amoongus
another amoongus W!!!!
theres like 16 iron hands though so
Amoongus is strong, but brute bonnet isn't mid
fluttermane and ironhands completely shred it, attacking stats are good but still extremely slow
252 SpA Choice Specs Flutter Mane Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Brute Bonnet: 482-570 (132.7 - 157%) -- guaranteed OHKO
200+ Atk Choice Band Iron Hands Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Brute Bonnet: 662-780 (182.3 - 214.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Protean Meowscarada U-turn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Brute Bonnet: 408-484 (112.3 - 133.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Although I do play more singles, I still feel it's way too slow to be a significant threat on the field
maybe run it in a tr team since it's so slow
a lot of pokemon used now are pretty fast
at least in my experience
troom psychic terrain armarouge expanding force is very strong yea
But yeah pick what u like. Iron hands in particular is very dominant in vgc, as are flutter + bundle
also just some tips, don't try to overpredict, unless it's very obvious they're going to switch/protect a mon, just do the most straightforward thing, don't overthink
You'll get a feel for it after more practice
yeah i've gotten a bit more used to predicting after a bit of practice
it definitely takes a bit of practice though and i definitely need more
I changed the team to Murkrow, Garchomp, Palafin, Gholdengo, Armarouge, and Indeedee-F. Murkrow is running Haze, Tailwind, Taunt, and Protect; Garchomp is the same except for the change to Rock Slide; Palafin got Ice Punch but the rest is the same (Trying to get Choice Band); Gholdengo is running Choice Specs but the movepool didn't change; Armarouge didn't change; Indeedee-F is running Psychic Surge with Psychic Terrain with the moveset Psychic, Follow Me, Helping Hand, and Protect, does that help it?
Yes, that makes it a lot b etter
try to replace psyshock on gholdy
Hm, what should I replace it for
dazzling gleam is good
so is nasty plot
if you're using scarf trick is also viable
Ooo yeah true, trick could be rude with that
Yeah Dazzling Gleam to patch up the weakness to Dark (I think?? I have bad type match memory lol)
Nah, simply tera steel if u see dark and click make it rain
