Hello VGC experts! I am new to VGC and hit Master Ball tier a few days ago, but with a rental team.
Now i want to see how far I can get with my own team, but with no experience in team building, I dont know what to build my core team around with. In the pic you can see my current team. The strat i will try is to fast transform palafin with shed tail. What mons with what spreads would you recommend in this team? I will also gladly take corrections if my core team might also be bad 😄 ! Thank you very much for all replies.

Yes

with palafin, grimnsnarl's screens are useful

Probably dont use scarf on cyclizard since its alr a really fast mon so scarf would be quite a waste

#

And switch quick attack w vreaking swipe or dragon tail

There's basically no Intimidate pokemon on the ladder. Use life Orb on Palafin or Rindo Berry

Thank you guys for the input. I also was not sure about scarf cyclizar but was worrying about murkrow, Pelipper wont rly get tailwind off early.. and im kinda stuck on leads with palafin and cyclizar if i want to do this strat

#

For now I added Tera Fire Amoonguss and Tera steel specs Hydreigon to the team and want to see how that goes

Clear Amulet isn't useful atm b'coz Arcanine is very rare + Salamence isn't all that common

foggy solstice
#

Ye i saw some rk9 but they were not so hard to deal with

night creek
#

Lum Berry is also good if you're afraid of Burn/Twave

foggy solstice
#

I played some games yday and opposing tailwind teams were a big problem.. it feels like i must ditch palafin completely or they just have too much momentum. Pelipper is also hard to get tailwhind off with bc of trickster and kilowattrels

#

And i dont really see a trick room counter mon playing well into that setup with my team

night creek
#

Then Switch in Pelliper to kill/damage enough to negate Eruption

foggy solstice
#

When i used amoongus they just multiattacked me with spread moves, like garchomp etc

night creek
#

I would lead Palafin and Cyclizard.
Pelipper and Shroom in the back

Ye palafin cyclizard are my general lead. Palafin swap to pelipper and shed tail into transformed palafin, maybe thats my issue that i want the sub on palafin

Ok

Kill Torkoal you basically win. Or Tera Water/Rock Amoonguss

#

Water is better

#

I guess fire is fine too

foggy solstice
#

Ye i need more games also to decide when to bring hydreigon and amoongus. Still very stubborn on just using the other 4 bc of rain

night creek
# foggy solstice Ok

Don't worry I lose half my games testing a team eventually start winning like 70-80% pretty easily. Just need practice and you'll get better

foggy solstice
#

And getting punished for that

night creek
#

Scope Lens Hydreigon would be an amazing lead next to cyclizar against TR

#

Focus Energy and then Draco

foggy solstice
#

Ye i guess 😉 Playing rental teams to masterball didnt feel so earned bc the strats are ez to copy, but building my own team feels like hardstuck great ball tier rn haha, thanks for your help you seem really experienced

night creek
#

Or whatever else ofc you won't have protect on the set

#

Nw. Experienced many losses I'm still not that good but am happy to help
