#Moderate Tera Raids channel, stop spam, off-topic, limit to raid posts, etc.

SWSH servers organized raid servers with several different methods to stop off topic conversations, memes, spam, etc. that clogged channels and made finding raids difficult.

-Introduce 1-5 min cooldowns on raid channels
-Limit posts to only Raids, Raid info, and Raid code
-Require image only (of raid info) or form-filled bot posts with raid info
-Create separate channels for raid discussion
-Advanced SWSH raid servers w bot integration created raffle systems for Raids where interested members would react to the post and then be placed into a temporary raid discussion channel which would close after the raid ended.

Tldr the current Tera Raids channels are a bit out of control and overwhelming to use.

This is a pokemon server, not a place of business. We want people to interact here, not just rotate in and out like NPCs just to do a raid. If people don't like the interaction happening, I'm sure there are other server that do treat it like how you would like.
As for the bot you are suggesting, we had a similar bot to that for a good 15 months+ here, and nearly every host hated it. It saw very minimal usage.
Hosts do this for fun, remember that if someone is rehosting a raid they get nothing out of it. The suggestions you are making just treat them as a farm and I doubt we would have as many hosts if the channel was as strict as you would like it to be

  • as a host myself, my raids get filled in mere seconds, sometimes I just have to delete it because it gets full so fast and it doesn't get spammed up so people might still be trying to join later, and I very much enjoy the chatting, that's 95% of the fun

I think a lot of people agree the raid channels are a bit out of control. These are ideas to do something about it. I understand the counterpoints so dont need them explained, but want to share ideas to make changes. I think an even moderately longer chat cooldown, ~30 seconds would go a long way. I think a discussion channel for raids could also work well as a place where people can talk about whatever they want to wrt raids, including talking about their raid

People joining raids would not want to tab away to a discussion channel and potentially miss a raid they want to get into. The chat cooldown was 15 seconds before this week, mainly for control reasons due to it being the first few weeks of the game and is reduced to 10 now, because like we said. People want to have conversations while hosting or joining raids, not just take it 100% seriously

Then Id just propose trying some changes on the much less used Tera Raids 2 for people that arent able to keep up with the main channel for whatever reason!

What changes are you proposing? Because a lot of the changes proposed so far are things we either 100% do not want to implement, or things we have tried in the past with little success. This server has been around since the early swsh raid days which means we have tried a lot of potential solutions suggested already

Anything I've mentioned in the OG post or in these comments and any variation of them, I think differentiating the channels in any way actually gives them both utility. Tl;dr, make Tera Raids 2 slower, less off-topic, less spam, etc.

Tera raids 2 is barely used so it's barely being spammed tho

There is no way to enforce that at all. Tera raids 2 has been a lower slow mode (5 seconds) for the entire duration of its creation. It also has reactions enabled there. But you can see what it's done for the channel which is nothing
