Hello! I need some advice from someone who knows how to team build. I am a newbie and I'm not sure where to even begin to try getting into season 1 competitive. I don't know what sites people use, how to learn the meta, and YouTube and Google have so much conflicting info that it's all confusing and overwhelming. I'm struggling. I'd just appreciate some advice. Thanks.

I went onto Pokemon Showdown and watched VGC matches at 1300+ ELO
Uh idk, do that until you find a general team style that you like? You may need to play a few practice matches on Showdown to make minor revisions
That's the best advice so far so I appreciate it
There are teams that use Garchomp + Earthquake immunities to deal damage, but opposing Rotom-Appliances can be a problem. I replaced Chomp with Ground Haxorus + Mold Breaker to bypass Levitate. The thing is only 97 base speed, so I compensated with Flying-types and speed control. Volcarona is there because Orthworm resists all of QuakeSlide + Dragon STAB
Just an example thought process. There are other styles like weather, Tailwind, or Trick Room
See I don't even know what websites and tools there are out there to use
Teambuilder: https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/teambuilder
Damage calculator: calc.pokemonshowdown.com/
Spectate: https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/ -> Watch a battle -> VGC 2023 Series 1 [format]
Sample sets: https://www.smogon.com/dex/sv/pokemon/ (SV Pokemon may be incomplete. You can also find sets for past generations, which play differently but sometimes use similar strategies)
I also binge-watched a lot from a YouTuber called False Swipe Gaming
I have yet to find a single source that describes all the doubles team styles
Thanks for this.
