We have the #scam_prevention_faq and #blacklist people can use, and if you are trading somebody who refuses to wait for a middleman, then it might be best to not trade them.
However, this isn't a bad idea imo! Seems like a good idea.

#scam_prevention_faq is indeed helpful and does help many although I fear most people don't read it.
Granted this means they also have themselves to blame for being scammed if they don't read it but still it does still suck

The only possible issue I see with this is that some people who come here aren’t interested in anything but trading, trying to encourage them to participate in other social activities or waiting it out could very well be a deterrence

While it may help you and others become reputable to assimilate, I don’t think it should be pushed. They’re not forced to of course but with a week’s worth of waiting they might as well just go somewhere else

Imo if people can't just sit and wait a week for the ability to trade then they're either Defo wanting to scam or are just.. Very impatient
Yeah sure the wait would be annoying If you had no ill intentions from the start. Almost feels like a punishment in that sense don't it

An amount less than a week definitely sounds better but it’s still something to be ultimately unsure about, those types of people will wait any amount they have to

We're a huge discord with over 1k joins each day. not many of them would stay if they found out they're unable to trade for a certain amount of time
People making alts can just wait
It punishes new members by assuming the worst

Also, anybody who is worried enough about scams can see how long the account existed, and refuse high value trades without a middle man
