#New raids chat for “serious” players.

Lately, there has been a rather large amount of complaints and frustrations on trolling in raids, or people using incorrect Pokémon to achieve the raids goal. I therefore suggest that a raid channel be created for “serious” players who wish to complete raids.

This will ensure the “toxicity” and frustration vented will cease to exist, and players who wish to show off or use random Pokémon for fun can continue to do so.

I have had to resort to announcing I have a raid for a specific Pokémon, and have players message me what Pokémon they intend to bring to seclude those who will troll, or bring in poor Pokémon. This creates more work for hosts and those who join raids alike, which is likely to decrease the amount of raids shared within the server. This is what I’ve started recommending people to do until an alternative is made and the trolling stops.

How do you quantify if someone is serious?

How do you know the players that you’re talking about won’t just join these “serious” player raids?

What if some of these players aren’t trolls, but inexperienced first timers?

Recommending players to bring in certain pokemon helps but not all will have these or have them built, or still a lower level then the same problem occurs.

We’re just past the first two weeks of release, not everyone is at the same point of the game.

We can create 100 channels for different types of raids and apparently people think the ones they don’t want in those raids won’t join, they definitely will.

This goes for all those in the raid channels who think that a solution is “your Pokémon are terrible you can’t play with us”
Please have patience with people, help people and point people to our help channels like #tera_strategy_discussion

Information and education as a community will help the raids as a whole, not policing those who are excited to join a challenge they don’t know they can’t win

I’ll answer your questions one by one:

  1. This could be self identifiable IE react to get the role.

  2. Because if they do, that’s when you can actually moderate the channel, and remove this self identifiable role.

  3. If they’re not trolls and are inexperienced, that’s on them. The staff team on this server could point them in the right direction or advise them on how to improve and be better. That’s not the job of the standard player.

How do you dictate whose job it is? I’m sure some people would appreciate tips from others who are otherwise doing nothing for either party’s benefit—it isn’t necessarily the staff’s mission to educate them either, it is fairly simple for anyone to either answer any proposed questions or redirect them to a better resource

i dont think this is necessary tbh

#

its just kind of a “deal” problem i guess

How do you dictate whose job it is to moderate and help players on this server? The fact there are helper roles, and moderator roles.

Fact of the matter is, people are getting frustrated and raging because of trolls or inexperienced players. One way or another, to ensure a safe, fun, server for all, something has to be done.

does it tho?

#

again its kind of a “deal” situation

If people are getting frustrated with the crowd they’re in they need to find a new one. It sounds like you have a patience issue

pearl hornet
#

basically a situation where you just have to deal with it

#

that simple

#

also for your 3 it isnt their fault they arent sweats ev training all their pokemon or catching shinies all over

#

again, fairly simple

Please don’t try twist this on me as having a patience issue. This passive aggression isn’t necessary. This post is based on a situation I witnessed yesterday that I wasn’t involved in.

im certainly not, but still its a kind of “deal with it” and just be patient i guess, I have no intention of being rude, its just a fact

They are already doing what they feel they can, again, providing educational services as required (and encouraging others to do the same), as well as handling anything that escalates. People can already be prohibited from participating in the raid channels if need be, just like trading

right sorry

#

if its obvious they are trying to troll, then you can grab a mod and deal with them

#

if not… i got nothin

Ngl this reeks of elitism towards new players more than anything else, which is the exact reason why they don't want to make more channels

Not everyone is going to have the right Pokemon for a raid. A lot of people don't take it absolutely seriously. They just want to play the game. But serious players will throw a fit over it.

I was in the Charizard raid chat for an hour yesterday and it was full of elitism and talking down to people not using the right Pokemon and just being rude all together to people that weren't good enough. Making a channel just for that doesn't sit right for me. You are just going to have to learn patience or find a small group you find you click with in playing the way you enjoy if you don't like how the channels are handled and having patience with new players or players who want to play the way they enjoy.

The only other option I can think of is making your own server for serious players. That or just have to accept a lot of people can play the game how they want.
