We can use showdown for testing and planning and I also like in-game, once we've settled on good eV spreads and everything. I would be interested if you'd like a 5th. I've always been keen on the idea of diving deeper into competitive pokemon but it seemed so daunting that I never made a really solid effort.

I played a bit of early Sw/Sh meta seriously but only with rental teams I'd find off youtube videos.

This gen I'd like to build my own team(s) from scratch and maybe enter a tournament or two if the opportunity arises.

I have some background in competitive gaming, I've been playing & casting Legends of Runeterra for the last two years - with some luck there'll be some transferrable skills that I can bring to the table

Anyone got thoughts on what they want their team to look like? I just meta-gamed last time I tried playing and borrowed rental teams.

I sat down and spent some time looking at options today though. If I can make this work I'll be a happy man

I would think beartic would be better on that kind of team due to the lower speed tier possibly being better in TR but most mons ig around 50-80 base speed either commit one way or the other

Cetitan is just overall better than beartic though, despite the buffs beartic got this gen

Cetitan is actually amazingly bulky tho, especially behind veil

#

and you don't have to invest a lot of attack if you run Belly Drum

#

you'd just have to build the team to get around those. I play BD Cetitan and it is nearly always brought out last as a late game sweeper when the threats to it have been neutralized

#

Indeedee is 99% of the time a lead, so it never really hangs around late game to redirect

#

and if someone brings an amoongus out in front of Ceruledge and ice attacks just to spore, its gonna be extremely lucky to even live to spore

Just casually dropping by here to give some mentions regarding this upcoming ranked season (own opinions): trick room teams have potential, same goes with sun teams. gholdengo seems rather op in singles, but perhaps not that op in doubles (earthquake vs wide guard). things im looking forward to: armarouge as support/sweeper, kilowattrel as tailwind support.
