SURPRISE GIVEAWAYS
Welcome! In this channel, you can post surprise giveaways consisting of Pokémon or Items, whatever you feel like giving away! This is not a place to ask for specific Pokémon - please use the various trading channels for that purpose.

Please read the below guidelines and rules before you host or participate.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

• All surprise giveaways must be done by: a) posting a Link Code in your post; b) asking to be pinged in ⁠#giveaway_discussion; c) asking to be contacted via Direct Message (DM).
• If you want to host a mystery/trivia giveaway, please ping a <@&669421585647665173> and let them know what you plan to give away. Once a Giveaway Helper has approved your request, you can post your giveaway here.
• You must have any Pokémon/Items given away on hand and clearly listed in your surprise giveaway post. Google Documents, Spreadsheets or images are not allowed.
• You may not have more than one (1) surprise giveaway post up at a time.
• Your surprise giveaway post must be no longer than 15 lines.
• It is not allowed to schedule giveaways in this channel (including giveaways with randomly selected winners).
• It is not allowed to host giveaways via Pokémon HOME or Bank.
• It is not allowed to ask for giveaway rep in order to participate in a giveaway.
• You may only post surprise giveaways in this channel, please use ⁠#giveaway_discussion for chatter.

If you encounter any hacked, illegal or otherwise suspicious Pokémon in surprise giveaways, please contact a <@&669421585647665173>. Breaking any of the guidelines or rules listed may lead to permanent removal from the Giveaway/Trading Sections of this server.

WHAT YOU CAN GIVE AWAY

• Regular Shiny Pokémon (Non-Legendary/Mythicals/Event)
• Breedable Pokémon (exception: illegal Pokéball combinations)
• Pokémon obtained in Raid Dens
• Non-Shiny Meltan
• Items

WHAT YOU CANNOT GIVE AWAY

• Any "One Per Save File" Pokémon (Walking Wake/Iron Leaves, S/V DLC Paradoxes, Mightiest Mark Pokémon, etc.)
• Pokémon obtained from HOME GTS/Wonder Trade/Surprise Trade
• Legendary/Mythical Pokémon
• In-Life Event Pokémon
• Any 6IV Wild Pokémon
• Shiny Pokémon from an Egg received via Link Trade
• Shiny Raid Ready/VGC Pokémon (non-shiny allowed)
• Shiny Alpha Pokémon
• Shiny Eggs
• Anything that breaks our #trading_rules!

If you want to give away Legendary/Mythical Pokémon, they have to go through #hackcheck_queue first. Once passed, they can only be given away through #giveaway_submissions.

We reserve the right to refuse any surprise giveaway.

HOW TO JOIN A SURPRISE GIVEAWAY

Follow the instructions as posted by the surprise giveaway host! See the list below on how to join a trade in respective Pokémon games.

Pokémon Legends Z-A

• Open the in-game menu by pressing X,
• Select Link Play then Link Trade,
• Select "Faraway Players" and enter the Link Code provided by the giveaway host,
• Press + to begin searching for your trade partner,
• Make sure to double check the In-Game Name in the upper right corner to verify you are trading with the intended trade partner.

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet

• Open the menu and click Poké Portal,
• Connect to the Internet by clicking the L Button,
• Select "Link Trade" and enter the Link Code provided by the giveaway host,
• You will start searching for a Trade Partner,
• Make sure to double check the In-Game Name in the upper left corner to verify you are trading with the intended trade partner.

Pokémon Legends Arceus

• Talk to Simona at her cart, just left of the Galaxy Hall,
• Select "I want to trade Pokémon" ,
• Select "Someone far away" and enter the Link Code provided by the giveaway host,
• You will start searching for a Trade Partner,
• Make sure to double check the In-Game Name in the upper left corner to verify you are trading with the intended trade partner.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

• Open the Union Room by pressing the Y Button,
• Select "Global Room" , then select "Yes, with a Link Code" ,
• Enter the Link Code provided by the giveaway host,
• Look for the host in the room, they should have a speech bubble with two (2) Pokéballs above their head,
• Talk to the host to start a trade.

Pokémon Sword/Shield

• Open Y-Comm by pressing the Y Button,
• Connect to the Internet by pressing the + Button,
• Select "Link Trade" and enter the Link Code provided by the giveaway host,
• You will start searching for a Trade Partner,
• Once you are connected, make sure to double check you are connected to the intended trade partner by hitting the + Button to cycle through your Pokémon Menu, or by going to an empty space in your Boxes. Their In-Game Name will be shown in the upper right corner.

Once all is done, do not forget to show appreciation to the giveaway hosts in ⁠#giveaway_thanks!
