the way i quit stuff like that was helping people on here it gave me motivation so i would try to find something to keep you busy
it was really bad
but i quit
but if thats all you do then it will be hard to quit
Its very difficult to just quit, its not really an option, you have to slowly cut down on how many times you do it.. they are ingrained into your brain, just attempting to quit at once would make your brain think something is wrong and make the urge even stronger. I suggest to slowly change your routine and find activities to do that are unlikely to turn into an addiction

if your addicition slap yourself in the face say why would you need it your streak go so far that you dont need do it

everything that can allow you search stuff up
open parental control lock your phone where it cant let you search it up
that basically 2nd teir of addicition

This. Avoid thirst traps on social media and even in games that expose you as much as you can. It helps alot with growing distance and the longer you stay clean, the better you feel. Your Brain is literally healing.
So I'll just quit social media then?
For at least a month yup
