Experienced Listeners

I cannot stress this enough in my opinion there should be a role where someone has actually had enough experience to become a experienced listener so that whenever someone is in need of professional help they will be able to support that person. Im really not liking how I met several people who yes are listeners but just arent helpful at all or in the same boat as I am. They also talk in a way as they know everything where really I think their just projecting their own thoughts onto others.

Hey @terse cedar! So listeners aren’t a role people apply for, it’s a volunteer position that anyone can do. If you see listeners you think shouldn’t be, please make a staff ticket.

Otherwise there are the verified listeners who are now familiar with being a listener.

I don’t know the exact number but we have tons of listeners and we unfortunately couldn’t really train them all.

Again, if you see someone who shouldn’t be a listener, open a ticket and we can do an investigation into them.

So the verified listeners are better than regular listeners if I want somebody to speak with?

Not better, just more experience. There are also not many of them

the listener role is basically for people who want to give advice, but aren't necessarily good at it
