My experience was only with one therapist for a few months*
They let me indentify a few issues and ask you questions to try and think about them Deaper than you usually do, they would send pamphlets, tried online emdr, which didn’t do anything for me at least. Ultimately it helped me think about things purposely and deeper than I usually would, but I didn’t like how the conversations felt controlled and I also was upsetI didn’t get to talk about issues I cared about as much as I want- overall it was pretty in between for me, not bad but didn’t really do much, taking time to find a therapist that worked for me would have made a big difference so I do encourage you to try it

I went to a psychiatrist and psychologist. I didn’t even know the difference between them at first lol until I researched about it. Psychiatrist is shitty plus it’s expensive as fuck. They are able to prescribe meds and that’s aboutn it cuz the therapy is shitty. they ask you basic questions like how is your progress on healing/losing weight whatever. They dont really help you solve your problems, how to cope with …. Or talk to you, they just ask questions. Might be diff for everyone tho. Anyways for psychologist, it helped me set my goals, helped me with my problems and literally talk to me about my struggles on a deeper level. It’s also 2x cheaper than getting a psychiatrist. Idk about therapist tho. Anyways just don’t get a psychiatrist
