Hey everyone! What can this be?
My girlfriend (soon ex, I know we should break up and I will soon) has confused me a lot due to her lying the past few days, so while I tried figuring it out yesterday, I lost my memory. I just, I lost my memory. Not completely, but I couldn't remember what happened after 2022, it came back after 30 mins. Today happened the same, but for 10 Mins.. what can this be? How can I just loose my memory when trying to figure something that really confuses me out?

If you’re experiencing a highly stressful event, your brain can try to “protect itself” by not being able to process past memories. This is called “altered memory encoding and retrieval”. It’s a trauma response
You could also be experiencing dissociative amnesia
traumatic events also cause this. Your brain will shut out certain memories to protect itself from trauma, which can cause you to forget basic information like who you are for a short period of time
Similar, but different cases of what you described
I've been told that before
No like, I remembered nothing that happened past 2022
Yes I understand that
that can happen with these two responses
