Do I unfriend? if so, how?

helloooo. so situation, i got a friend i met last year and they stole from me more than five times. money, school supplies, and almost a pocket knife. I’ve been pretty content with them, always forgiving them but recently I noticed they were holding the EXACT mechanical pencil I had lost last year, that I let them borrow for like only ten minutes. and so I took it from them and now the pen I had in my left pocket was gone. note that they had their hands in my pockets searching for paper or whatever.

now, question is. do I unfriend them? and if I do, how will I? considering that we met through a friend group and have mutual friends.

to answer the first part to your title question, yes, you should i personally believe that if your not gaining some sort of happiness from keeping them as a friend and they keep stealing from you thats a extremely toxic relationship, although i have a question, in your eyes after all you’ve experienced with them, do you think you should be friends with them?

I’m pretty unsure. they maintain a fine attitude at times but sometimes could be overbearing and even possessive. the only thing that isn’t helping my case is that we met through a friend group so, if I unfriend them then the group may also or maybe i might cause some drama. which i dont want since i just want it to end quietly.

Sounds like a lopsided relationship. Just tell them you don’t want to be friends because you don’t enjoy being around them. If they press you, keep using that line.
