I see, it’s not a matter of your masculinity. This is just called empathy, your feeling is natural. If you are doing a fist fight as a form of competitive fighting it’s also completely normal to feel that way.

In a real fight, the feeling you describe can be useful.
When you are in a life or death situation the ability to put your conscience aside and to act purely on instinct or your training will save you from freezing out of fear.

You don’t need to man up at all.

Are you intentionally getting in fights?
The utilitarian approach would be to take up a combat sport that has a large focus on live drilling/sparring. If you consistently are in similar stressful situations you will have less of an emotional response to an actual fight as well as being more equipped to handle one.
I would not advocate for fighting outside of a gym/competition setting regardless.
