My sister used to suffer from this but now she’s a little better now. The advice that she and my brother gave me was to try connecting with other people and forcing yourself to stop doing it for others like a bet. You bet yourself to keep off of it and keep logs. My sister also installed this app to keep track on how many days she’s been sober and ||sh|| free.
The thing is— this is hard and you have to find accountability. Everyday you have to say no to these things and that’s the challenge. And when you get off of it for a certain amount of time— you can give yourself a big reward and share the news with someome and make it big.
Also, for some reason, just going out to nature without a phone— like a day trip with my family/friends sometimes work. Nature can be comforting simetimes— or like the outside in general

General summary from this big text: make a bet with someone, keep accountable of it for as long as you can, find better ways and distractions other than your phone, reward yourself after a period of time (1 month, 6 months, 1 year) and learn from mistakes.
