Your first step could be reading The Body Keeps the Score, its an excelent book on trauma. Reliving your trauma in a place of safety - therapy, can disconnect the pain from the memories and can slowly eradicate the alarm mechanisms that tend to go off when reminded of a trigger. Meditation could help too. Reliving trauma does not help everybody and in that case you could try The Rewind technique. But it would be best to just go into therapy.
