It's ok if you do. Sometimes certain conversations are difficult. Whether it be anxiety or something else, could cause us to express a different kind of emotion than what we want.

Well, maybe your friend just feels really close to you. I think that, if you really wanted to know, you could straight up ask if they are into you based on what you've noticed, but if it doesn't make you uncomfortable and both of you are content, then it's likely safe to assume that they just really appreciate you as a good friend.
