Self diagnosis is frowned upon, yeah, but it's still useful to consider that what you're experience could be related to the obvious potential diagnosis, and you can try lifestyle changes that have been shown to be effective in mitigating symptoms of ADHD.
Doesn't mean you've self diagnosed, just means you're trying something that works for people with similar problems. A diagnosis is a label to help other people understand you, it's not necessarily the best way for you to understand yourself.
