i can already feel that writing this is gonna take a long time, so, here we go...

Basically, I've had depression for the past months because I'm lonely. I've asked ChatGPT, but it redirected me here. You already know the situation is bad when the world's most powerful, capable and smartest AI can't help you with depression.

I have no friends, family is just not enough as we don't share interests and they barely give a shit about me.

ChatGPT suggestion: Explore opportunities for meeting people, like volunteering or joining a club or group.

Problem: In the area I live, volunteering doesn't really exist, because no matter what they would try to bring up, no one is willing to join, and because they know this, it's not worth it for them to organise such stuff. Same thing with clubs and groups: we don't have any official groups anyone can join, we do have some closed ones but they don't really share any interests that I have.

ChatGPT suggestion: Explore online communities and find online friends

Problem: Everyone in the whole town is against online people. And while you may say: "Ignore them, everyone has different opinions!", no, when my teacher asked me how is my English so good, I told her I have online friends. When she found that out, later that week she gave a book to my parents about 'why online friendships are unhealthy, waste of time, etc.'. She didn't even care about my English skills anymore, she went completely pessimistic. But isn't the point of friend to help each other out in hard times, share knowledge or to have fun? Apparently no.

ChatGPT suggestion: ChatGPT can't help, get help from a therapist or a hotline.
