Just got my V1Es (Jenny’s)

Shipping - 10/10 Arrived within 2 weeks

Packaging quality - 7/10 I can tell isn’t a genuine Apple product but can see that most won’t. First giveaway was the print quality on the front.

Build Quality 9/10 - Difficult to tell apart from genuine ones. All the gaps are consistent and line up. The hinge looks fine but doesn’t feel 100% (nothing major and I’d only notice it if I was really trying to find issues). The earpieces themselves would say excellent build quality. (Will upload more pics later)

Sound Quality 5/10 - This might be just a bad EQ but I think they sound pretty terrible. It is a bit bass heavy which I knew in advance but it sounds like some vocals are slightly muffled. There is a small amount of static. This goes away about 5s after you stop playing audio. I’m coming from wired EarPods and while I can hear “more of the song” it sounds like it really does need to be tuned at least. I don’t think the speaker itself is bad but I want to try and play with the EQ before giving my final verdict.

Connection 8/10 - Connected to my phone instantly and came up as genuine AirPods. Problem is I can’t connect it to my Watch, it comes up in Bluetooth as its on my iCloud account but the connection fails each time. I also can’t connect it to my computer (macOS) it connects then disconnects after 5s. I’ll try in windows later. (Updated)

Overall 6/10 - The build quality and working as genuine AirPods on my iPhone is great but not being able to connect to my Apple Watch or macOS is an issue as I was hoping to use these for zoom calls and listening to music away from my phone. The low score is mainly for the poor sound quality, I will update if I manage to fix that with the EQ.

I don’t have much experience with playing around with the EQ so if anyone has any good settings and wouldn’t mind sharing I’d appreciate that. Also don’t have an android phone so I’m going to try do it in bluestacks or something.

I’m not trying to roast them. Customer support was good, shipping was good, packaging is good, build quality is good. Only the sound quality is not. I knew in advance it was bass heavy and some did say the EQ needed adjusting but it’s worse than I expected, maybe I got a pair that was a bit worse than the other but that is the risk you take when getting reps. I’m not trying to complain I’m just stating what I’m experiencing. I did say I’ll update my score once I do adjust it. I did look at them for quite some time before but I never came across anything about it not connecting to Apple Watches tbh. Was doing the review on the fly and the overall rating was just a overall subjective score. (As I said will update it but these are my initial impressions)

And OP, do some eq settings and edit. If tons of people say they are good reps, they probably are

Just staying my experience. Connection on iPhone is great as I said but doesn’t work on my other devices so that brings the score down. But since you mentioned that it is documented that it doesn’t work on Apple Watch (and I had missed that) I can increase that since that was just my error, but it should connect to macOS as far as I’m aware.

I’m not trying to roast or overly criticise lol. These are my initial impressions. They’re worth it for $30. It’s just sound quality that I’m having an issue with which I may be able to fix.

Okay so turning off spatial audio improved the quality quite a bit

If I turn it off the audio quality improves immensely, it’s like night and day. That isn’t supposed to happen as far as I’m aware?

Hi. My V1E is sounding pretty amazing. Everything is working well. I think some customers are not just lucky to get a stable Airpods reps.

Just got today my V1E and was playing with the EQ to get the best sound. So far in Flycc app EQ is on 1 Live Show, and headphone accomodation on with vocal range on medium. This found to be the best setting atm. Headphone accomodation doesn't distort the sound from what I can see. It actually helps the headphones get better vocal range as on standard they just sound bassy.
