Bought a pair of 4.9 TBs back in late July. Got heavy usage thru November when I "upgraded" (thanks to a ridiculously good deal on SlickDeals) to a pair of the new Bose QuietComfort II earbuds). I use the 4.9 TBs for my calls for work and they are still great. Battery life is good. Good mic quality. Sound is nice.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and they are still going strong.
There really is no comparison between them and the Bose headphones. The ANC on the Bose is ridiculous. Like its absurd how good it is in almost every situation. Trains. Planes. City environment. It really does make a difference. For shits and giggles, I brought both the 4.9TBs and the Bose QC IIs on a recent train ride. I put the 4.9s in and thought to myself "these are really good!" Then I put in the Bose ones and it was like "Wow. They really do make a big difference" and I couldn't go back to the 4.9s for the rest of the ride. Ha.
My step son has the real AirPod Pro 2s (I know, I know, he didn't want Reps). I will say I think the overall music listening experience on those is SLIGHTLY better than that Bose. The mic quality is the same. He admitted the ANC is much better on the Bose than his 2s...He actually said that my 4.9 knockoff ANC (based on the original Pros) was probably as good as the ANC on his Pro 2s, so take that for what it's worth.
I'm not an audiophile at all. I would still highly recommend the 4.9TBs and if I didn't already have both the 4.9 TBs and my Bose ones, I'd order the 5.1s to see how good they are.
