Change how the Storm Chaser defines "moving forward" to "not letting go of 'Forward'" instead of holding only forward. This way you can strafe during Accelerate and not leave yourself so vulnerable.

i mean usually the way you can get around this is by moving your mouse around to somewhat strafe

yes but its more awkward and you can't circle strafe
