They're basically a choice of 3 blessings that pretend to be occult scrolls, and you can upgrade them. No, you can't discard them or avoid the selection altogether.

The forced seasonal buff may become optional because there is a reasonable number of people who don't like it being forced.
But it'll still be an addition that exists to solely make the game easier, so that won't solve much besides encouraging more self-imposed challenges.

The issue isn't that the mechanics aren't explained, but reading the ascention lists is information overload. It takes me multiple runs and a look through reddit to figure out how I am suppost to play a good chunk of the characters

Like in a split second, I’d suggest using an injector instead especially radioactive glove cause it’s auto aim and it can refract to hit 3-4 targets at one go, so that’s lots of 30 spore stacks

Let’s say you have a shotgun with 10 projectiles
With spore on the smg and shotgun, each time a SMG bullet hits a a mob it deals 10 stacks of spores, so you need 3 shots to deal the extra spore damage

But something along the lines of... about 2/3rds of a shotgun shot. Maybe.
Don't worry, it's a lot more than you'd think, given the number of shots per second.

Inscriptions don't matter much for spores. That's partly why spores is so consistently OP.
The most that matters is RoF or multi-hit inscriptions on the main hand. Keep in mind projectile inscriptions aren't good.
And just damage or projectile inscriptions on the shotgun. But for shotguns, both of those are rare.

Its almost impossible for keys to be generated for sale
Almost all of these reseller sites use keys that have been bought of sites like GoG or humble with stolen credit card information or are misued keys that have been given out by devs to fake "reviewers and curators"

When you say continuous, are you meaning that it was constantly ticking damage? Or was it periodic bursts of damage?

your weapons now apply spore counters on hit , if the counter reaches 30 the enemy takes a big dmg hit.
Dmg of the spores and how many you apply are dependend on the dmg and projectiles of your weapons
TLDR :
You want a weapon with high base dmg and lots of projectiles on your off hand and a weapon with high RoF to apply the spores to an enemy
so weapons like Angelic Aura, Rainbow and such are great for applying Spores
Weapons like Argus , Hell , Wildhunt and Sunder are good for offhand to increase Dmg and Spores per hit

you gotta get v lucky with inscriptions, but heres the gist of it:
IF the "launch 3 grenades" and the "double projectiles next shot if you hit 2 enemies" are multiplicative, you can essentially x6 a total of, uh, .3 (Multiple bonus) + .2 (20% chance to gain a projectile) + 1(+1 consumption +100) +2 (.2 each shot until reload) and uhh a few i forgot
