#Very Strange Crash involving my sound system?

EDIT: For the dev who ends up reading this eventually, I can't even report the issue using the in-game report system as I crash before I can write it out.

Hey, so I've been playing the game for a fair while, managed to get my level up to 99 and quite happy overall. That was until the DLC with the brand new monkey character. It worked fine at the start, but for some reason shortly after the DLC came out I started having my computer completely lock up with what sounds like a sound crash (One sound repeated in a single instant).

At the time I wasn't fully certain what the issue was and thought I was crashing due to a strange bug with the hero screen, and despite reporting my issue a couple times and understandably not getting anywhere due to not knowing what was happening myself, I got frustrated and dropped the game for a bit. Now I've come back to it since that DLC released and I'm still getting the exact same issue, but after discussing with friends for a bit I've learned that somehow Gunfire's update with the "visitors of the spirit realm" DLC has caused something in the game itself to crash my sound card, softlocking my computer entirely. It's the only game to do this as well.

Even now I'm still not fully certain if this is actually the full issue and I do apologise, but this is the extent of what I've experienced with this strange bug/crash so far.

You probably have, but just in case: have you tried updating or reinstalling your sound drivers?

Yep, already done that

Oof, crappy. Wish I had something else to offer, but that error is a new one on me

It's fine, It's new to me XD I never expected an update would somehow crash my sound and thus the computer

Yeah that’s some bullshit for sure

I thought it was my computer dying but gunfire's the only game doing it, and I recall seeing in the system logs/event viewer that gunfire is doing something which is just crashing my sound

#

It's so weird

junior anvil

God, that is. Obviously you've reinstalled the game too, yeah?

Yep

Yeesh, what in the world

XD Hence I'm just hoping a dev spots the issue and actually has a solution XD

For real

Just double checked it and yeah, even trying to write a report in the game itself, it still crashed me. But now I actually can state what occurs with the crash, since it locks up my computer entirely but the sound still plays except rarely when it breaks. Can't alt tab, nothing works and the computer freezes entirely.

A bit more digging and I've now learned that somehow the Visitors of the Spirit Realm DLC is causing a weird crash with my RealTek system XD Thank god for event viewer

I fixed the issue. For some strange reason ever since the dlc came out, it was wanting to do something with RealTek which it wasn't allowed to do, and that was causing it to crash all the way to KERNEL and force freeze the computer as a whole. I've set the game to admin and it hasn't crashed so far. That being said, if it crashes again I'll update here since I don't know if it'll last or not.

Oh god, what a pain in the ass. Glad you found a solution

And I’ve just crashed again. Despite the fact I fixed it yesterday, it’s still doing the same issue
